Under Trump we're going to have over 100K dead of the virus, the largest budget deficit in history, and double digit (or close to it) unemployment. That's not ruining the country?
Hello, McFly? Show me other countries who have shut down and still have booming economies at the moment.
The length and breadth of the shutdown that was needed was made worse by Trump's dismissal of the virus for two months, and it may continue to get worse as he sanctions premature opening up across the country. The economic harm was made worse due to his incompetence, laziness and arrogance.
The historic budget deficit is unrelated to the virus - that one is all on Trump. We did elect the "king of debt" though, so if you voted for him you can't complain.
Other countries have suffered economically, but those countries with competent leadership are not in as deep a hole as the U.S., and will climb out of that hole more quickly than we will. Nothing that we've seen over the past few years gives any hope that Trump can lead us out of the recession/depression that he lead us into.
