Phil l speak for myself and l feel many others feel the same. My problem is not with you. It is his taking credit for Kenyan hard work with his magic false claims. He says everyone he coaches, he somehow makes them great but his methods and training philosophy are flawed. He knows it too. And he is lying about it.

Phil good luck Sunday! Regardless of what happens. No one is calling you out. The fake Wizard has been trolling these boards with false claims. It has been proven that his methods are flawed, yet he takes the credit away from athletes who did all the work long before this fake Wizard. Please take solace in knowing regardless of what you run Sunday, DNF, 2:27,2:30, or 2:19 or whatever, you could do a lot better if you had a real knowledgeable coach and not a guy calling himself the wizard.

JS, you talk about getting Kenyans fast in a few months. I’m curious about your success in coaching fast runners over many years. Can you elaborate on that?
Yes …...of course! ))) Josphat Kipchirchir I coached from 2015 when he returned
to Kenya from scholarship in the USA. He ran 4:00 at 1500 and 14:35 there. After just a couple of month on DANCAN system he ran XC faster than ever and within one year I got him to become one of the very best Kenyan juniors at XC . His breakthrough then was the Tusky`s XC where he placed 3rd. Then I continue to improve him over the years with 2 wins in the famous(in Kenya) Discovery XC in Eldoret in the seniors race until 2018 when he became a pro runner and got a manager that didn`t want me to coach on ( Have their own coaches to feed … ) . During my coaching of him he ran 28:10 at 10000m high altitude in Nairobi .I have a couple of more examples of this that the runners in my coaching just keep on improving as long as they are under my wings. But this exampel will be enough for this time... ))))

How insulting to Josaphat/ as long as he is under your system he will improve. It had nothing to do with the work he had done at the USA school? Tell the truth! Once he left your system he got even better.

J.S. is a character on Letsrun and he is also a real coach. It is possible to be both. I disagree that his system is flawed. I view it as extremely efficient and simple. He cuts out a lot of things that many people spend their time and energy on. If you have endless time do weights, drills, more easy miles, doubles, etc will it make you faster? Maybe...or maybe it just comes down to raising your LT, Vo2, and getting in a good long run. The definition of genius is taking the complex and making it simple. Maybe J.S. really is a genius? Maybe he’s just a troll on Letsrun? Either way I like him. Bed time for me. Flight leaves tomorrow. Hopefully the rain holds off. See ya on the starting line boys! Good day

The race will prove it Phil. I see in what you typed you are open to him being a troll. Well even if you DNF or run bad you made a friend. I just hope you see him for what he is. The dude is a troll! I think if you run real bad and pay your way and all, you won't feel the same way, especially since he is using you. Typing everywhere that he took you from a zero to a hero. You have done a ton of miles and had fitness before this guy came along.
There will be naysayers no matter what you do, especially when you compete at high levels. I usually don't tell people what I'm going to do because I don't want to deal with it. The fact that you put everything out in the open, on an anonymous forum filled with trolls, speaks volumes about your character.
This has been fun to follow, and I'm excited to see how Sunday turns out. I think you will do really well. Good luck out there Phil!
I'm bewildered why a few of you (or one guy using multiple names) care so much to degrade JS. Like...are you that hurt over him? Give it a rest.
This thread has been great. JS has a system that really isn't that different than most programs if you really look at it. Sure, weekly VO2 workout, but it's less taxing than typical VO2 work. Heavy focus on threshold work. Solid long run. Maybe it works just fine.
Anyway, let's leave this thread to what it has been. Stop ruining it.

JS up early and at it? Notice the time 6:05 am his time. Probably up and trolling already.
Stop quoting the long previous paragraphs, especially if you want your message to be read.
JS could be the biggest troll on let's run. Sundays afternoons front page on Let's Run should have, SUPER HOT: JS goes home devastated! Then hopefully he will just go away because he will be to embarrass to post anymore. Perhaps he will toll another running site.

Not only you Americans post on these boards. I'm from Belgium so when I post during the daytime it's night over at you guys.
Anyhow, good luck to you on Sunday Phil! I'm really curious about the result because I think JS' system isn't all that bad. The only thing I find doubtful is the short distance of the VO2max reps.

Even the Ingebrigtsens use the 20 x 400m in their training and many more world class athletes during history e.g Alan Webb, Peter Snell, Dave Bedford.,Frank Shorter... the list will never have an end ))…...but my system use it mostly every week. That`s the main difference together with the perfect individual recovery between intervals and repetitions, and of course the relatively low mileage

This is one of the best posts in the thread and I don't want it to go unnoticed. Good luck at CIM.

I am the proverbial 17 something guy that would supposedly break down soon off of the DANCAN system according to some D1 coach. To me, it does not make sense to do 20x400 , but 20x300 in 63 seconds, or 15x400 in 84-85.
Then I spend as much time on my feet as the Ingebritsens in the same intensity. If JS disagrees, I call it my own magic system :)
Your pace depends on ability, where you are right now in this very moment when it comes to shape. And of course
you don`t start with 20 x 400m immediately if I don`t see you are ready for it. This is one of the main stones in the DANCAN building......the runner never do too much or too fast work.....only enough what it takes to reach the personal goal.

LoL!! Insulting ? No way man! )) He has told himself the very best coach is J.S !! Within this story about me coaching him there is still a big secret.......a secret that I of course will not reveal now.....will leave it to my memoirs if I live long enough. ))) Good day! :)
Last runs before the big day! Yesterday 4.11 miles easy at 7:17 mile pace and today 4.09 miiles at 7:20 per mile. Tomorrow Day off .....and then on Sunday exam day! Good luck Phil! May the Mighty Force be with you and protect you.

Good luck to this man on Sunday. For the people who want to hate, it should be a fun experiment to see play out Sunday. This thread has been great to follow and you could probably revise the title to 2:19 on 65-75 miles per week. Doesn't feel like we've seen above that.
