When in doubt, just run the hypothetical meet projection either on LACCTIC or Athletic.net. Aquinas is 16th-25th in that, and yeah they ran poorly at GL, but did enough otherwise to get in.
"USTFCCCA Regional Award recognition". What does this mean for the naia? I know for the NCAA it's the regional champions that get this award. I have a conference champion, does that mean they win it?
Yeah, I’m actually in agreement. There’s no way you can rationalize having Lewis-Clark 16th in the last poll and Corban 31st. The two teams finished one minute apart on 1-5 time at their conference meet.
Some sleuth should find me other examples of teams that finished 1 minute apart at their conference meet from a higher ranked team and their place difference in rankings from one another.
The problem is…LC is getting worse as the season progressed. So you are overvaluing LC and therefore thinking Corban is good.
case and point: LC averaged 2553 at CCC vs 2449 for COI (so a 64 second gap per runner). LC averaged 2520 at GC vs 2447 for OKC (33 second gap). At GC, OKC handily beat Spring Arbor, Indiana Wesleyan, etc. So LC was limping into conference (Corban wasn’t even close to LC).
They were a bubble team, bubble teams can’t be upset…instead be better.

Again you’re basing everything off one race. LC is still ranked high because of their more impressive early season meets.
They were ranked in the top 10 at a point and they’re slowly coming back down
Let's take a look at last year's national meet and try to make to estimates for this year in Columbia.
Obviously Evert Silva is the heavy favorite this year, followed by a few other notable guys who have ran consistently well throughout this fall. But, I think last year played out a lot differently than most people would expect.
Jackson Wilson came away with a solid win, and I don't think he was really on anyone's radar. While he lost a couple races throughout the season, arguably his biggest exclamation on the season before nationals was his win in Michigan at the Great Lakes Challenge. He, alongside second place finisher Serhi Shevchenro, ended up finishing first and fifth at nationals respectively. Great Lakes is a much better predictor for nationals than people have given it credit for this year.
With this in mind, keep an eye out for these guys to make some noise on the national stage in Missouri:
Eli Fullerton (Indiana Wesleyan)
Dominic Malel (Campbellsville)
Ryan Hanak (Taylor)
Zack Gacnik (Carroll)
A few other notable names followed closely behind. It's going to be a dog fight for the 20-30 spots at nationals. But, I have a lot of confidence that these four guys can finish inside the top ten at the national meet and put themselves on the map.
It's almost like LC repeatedly peaks after their second or third meet every year and was overrated. Anyone should have known they would lose to EOU at CCCs. Corban should have raced better early in the year.

Conference champions and runners-up are automatically nominated for the award and then voted on by coaches in the region. Award winners were announced yesterday.
What’s the fascination with dogging a competitor that you don’t even know on a personal level? Is this just cyber bullying with your handle and comments? Seems pretty immature and derailing a conversation that involves adults.
Enough with this rubbish. I am sick of all the talk of Cumberlands and that we do not run fast at the nationals.
We will settle this on the course like men do. I expect that once I destroy your face at the nationals you will no longer talk ill of me and COACH SOWDER AND JAMES OVERHOLSER.
