I appreciate the excitement as race day approaches. This thread has been a great motivator for me since the beginning.I held on a little bit longer in workouts and closed a little bit faster in races knowing that a group of people were following along. I don’t want to let down the supporters and I want to prove the few trolls wrong.
I think it’s important to remember that 2:19 is my lifetime dream goal. I’ve always been a dreamer though and a couple times in the last 2 decades of running my running dreams have come true. I believe the dream can come true on Sunday.

2014: 1700 yearly miles
2:36:16 (1:17,1:19) 0-40 mpw, 11 and 17 mile run only double digit runs
2:35:24 (1:14,1:21) 55 mpw
2015: no marathons, 550 yearly miles
2016: no marathons, 650 yearly miles
2017: no marathons, 540 yearly miles
2018: no marathons, 2400 yearly miles
2019: CIM ? 3200 yearly miles
2012 was the last time i actually trained for a marathon. When I started this thread I figured trying to get back under 2:30 would be a respectable goal. Hate on J.S. if you want, but the guy got me pumped up and believing again! Isn’t that the whole point of a good coach? To push their athletes to go after their dream goals? He could have easily said just shoot for under 2:30 and play it safe. Playing it safe is no fun. Good day
