NXN 2023 Way too early preview: Dawn of a new Era

I noticed something very weird. Third place team at Niketown was Christian Brothers College. This team is a mix of Bolles FL runners and people from some other team. Since when has it been allowed to combine teams for meets like this?

oh, so Christian Brothers College is a combination of Evansville F.J. Reitz High School (IN) and Bolles (FL) runners

Very surprised by New York. Hopefully they can keep up the momentum

As for midwest, super disappointing. What was suppose to be one of the strongest regions is now the worst region. Jesuit LA 2022 would have creamed this field last year

Has a boys team ever made it to NXN before without a senior?

I don’t think Belen or American Fork had a senior in their top 5 last year

The real crazy thing is Air Academy is still probably better than them.

Found a comment from the NXN committee/ Rich Gonzalez on preseason favorite individual runners to win nxn: Their 4 pre-season favorites to win nxn were Jojo Jourdan, Evan Noonan, Daniel Simmons, Clay Shively. seems pretty accurate as the season starts unfolding

University High WV (Southeast team) had 4 guys above 170 speed rating. Big 4-5 gap just like at Farragut

One of the Humphries sisters has been missing from the Flower Mound lineup. That’s why they are ranked so low

Much better than expected. At the McQuaid invitational, Fairport put 4 guys above 170 speed rating, and also have another guy who has run a 177 in the past.

Auburn put 4 at 170 or above

Well, unfortunately as a Air Academy fan, I know one girl that is struggling. I hope that they can keep it together. They don't really run very many races. I feel like they put a lot of pressure on specific races. I think there are really good teams in Colorado.

Imagine if any of the top teams came to race against Colorado teams. It would be a Colorado win 1-4 hands down.

I think the top teams in the nation racing here would be

Niwot

Air Academy

Vista

Cherry Creek

Then other states....

Westfall is decent but if you look at his track times he’s really lacking in speed compared to the other top guys.

4 Southwest girls teams in the top 7, 3 in the top 3. Wow, it will be quite the NXR race. Insane

It's not fair that only 4 can go from 1 region. The top teams should be able to compete.
