And speaking of standing around at meets, looks like most teams are speaking with their non-attendance. Rowan convinced Staten Island, Gwynedd-Mercy and a bunch of community colleges to get enough competition so it'll count.
For Rowan athletes - sorry but your program is persona non grata for not just D3, but even D1 schools who sent some people previously aren't attending. But, as Tucker said "as to be expected when you win". Weirdly, UWL doesn't seem to have the problem of people boycotting their home track meets even though they won team XC this year.

Good. Couldn't happen to a more deserving coaching staff/athletic department. I hope all schools boycott their cross country meet in the fall as well.
Today's the extension Rowan OPRA counsel asked for. Pretty sure they were banking on "take out the trash day" aka Friday news dump. Clearly not former track athletes, whatever they release is going to spread like wildfire while people are standing around meets this weekend.
I have a lot of experience with OPRA/FOIA.
The folks who are making these requests are doing great, but we need to have realistic expectations.
There's a good chance they ask for another 10 days. There's a good chance they hide behind some other excuse and don't release anything.

These decisions can and should be appealed.
Is it a case where not producing the documents is a violation of the law, but they are just banking on no one actually suing them?
Since you have experience, you should message Rowan Clean Sport and offer to help out.

The requests I make are commercial in nature, but its the same idea. Give me x, y, z. Unless x, y, and z are extremely well-defined, the agency can come back and say "this is too broad" or "these documents don't exist". The first request I saw on Rowan Clean Sport was way too broad in scope. The second, now pending request, is a lot tighter, but I could see Rowan hiding between HIPPA for the first two items in the request.
The third item is requesting data/correspondence between Rowan and ISU. My guess is that there was no correspondence.
But yes, oftentimes these agencies will kick the can down the road 10 days at a time until someone gives up. Threats of lawsuits sometimes work, but oftentimes those end up with some kind of mediation/ombudsman situation. New Jersey revamped their OPRA laws recently, too, which makes things murky.
If no one has done a request to ISU/ISU police for information re. the car incident, that might be worthwhile.
EDIT: Reviewing some records, I've dealt with Rowan in the past. Once in 2024, a request which ultimately ended up taking 5 months to fulfill. Once in 2021, took about 7 months. Totally different times and requests, but still, OPRA is not an instantaneous thing.

New Rowan Clean Sport post on Instagram. Apparently the university ghosted their own 4/10 deadline to records, I guess daring RCS to sue. Sounds like RCS is going to call their bluff. I guess Rowan is all in on covering this up.
Update: Rowan responded. They are not in possession of any invoices, contracts, etc. regarding drug testing of athletes. So I guess that means Seth isn't tested weekly like his sprinter teammates claim. Not that drug testing would be relevant anyway since this is a non-analytical situation, but it speaks to the overall credibility of Rowan University. I wonder if the sprint squad will ever realize they are being lied to and manipulated.

It also looks like they sent RCS some redacted docs. Wonder if we'll hear more about that.

Your wish has been granted. Rowan Clean Sport published all received documents at the link in their instagram bio. I had to access via PC because the file was unsupported on mobile. Spoiler, thus far there is zero proof of any communication between Rowan University and Iowa State University. Just a bunch of empty legal threats. More concerned about suing people than actually telling the truth.

Wow. So they did 0 drug testing. Hate to say it, but at this point any Rowan mark from any athlete is suspect in my book.
Love SC's Lawyer admitting the Gmail inbox was legitimate.. (From the OPRA files)
We are also aware that LetsRun.com has referenced and relied upon emails and other electronic communications that appear to have been obtained improperly and without authorization. These materials include sensitive and confidential information concerning Mr. Clevenger’s health and medical treatment. The use, publication, or attempted publication of such materials raises serious concerns, and we expect that no such materials will be published or further disseminated.

scanned the docs since I have real work I need to do today. Damn, no records that look good for them. No drug tests. You have the Rowan Head Athletic Trainer (AFTER sh!t hit the fan) googling and texting:
hOW dO wE dETect EpO?!?!

Another thing I am wondering... SC's lawyer claimed they did a blood test for EPO. My guess is that they did it and didn't include it in the OPRA request because Rowan seems incompetent.. Looks like they let everyone "self-select" what documents they wanted to include.
But if they actually didn't test him... What does that mean? Is this just blatant misconduct by Rowan's athletic department? Lack of Institutional control?
In looking at the last Rowan Clean Sport post -- Robert Papazian is the lawyer for RCS.
As in...Bobby Papazian...the 2004 NJ MOC XC Champ?? Awesome!
yeah they (RCS) came out with the big guns. Props for putting their name on it (not going to doxx the person, but since it's on a public Instagram post I don't think that's inappropriate)
But yeah, I stand by my prior statements: - Rowan administration (hey Dimit and Dubiois who have been ignoring my emails): you've torched your team's reputation and I'm sorry to your athletes who are now tainted because you can't find a shred of credibility between your jockstraps.
- Rowan team: you have a pretty simple choice here: A) you share info and protest internally what's going on, as at least one of your peers is doing.
Or, B) you stay silent and hope it blows over.
Or, C) you ride full throated into defending your checks notes D3 Indoor Track title that nobody thinks is legit.

Testing would have been performative at best. Not contacting Iowa State is the red flag....they (Rowan) wanted plausible deniability. Sounds like Gault sent them the mom's "he told the truth" email which blew it all up. From that point on, they were harboring an athlete whose own mother appears to corroborate BPC 157 usage. Also worth noting that now a second Clevenger family attorney does not deny the authenticity of the email evidence, only that it was obtained nefariously.
