What? The fastest 3000 meter runners in the NCAA are Valby, Chelangat, and Tuohy. Do you think a 10 minute 3000 runner is going to win? Maybe the fastest 400 meter runners will win. Maybe shot put. I am sticking with the best 3000 meter runners.

My top 5
1. Parker Valby
2. Parker Valby
3. Parker Valby
4. Parker Valby
5. Katelyn Tuohy
It's funny...I barely recall seeing Valby's name mentioned on this message board until around September, and then an entire horde of fans have come out of the woodwork. Also strange that all the Dudek, Cook, Hutchins, Mascarelli diehards (for a very short amount of time) have disappeared.
I wonder what could have happened to them...
Where are these diehards that you are referring to? How bout linking to a few dozen posts from someone about any of those runners. I can't find any diehards.
As mentioned, they disappeared quickly....about as quickly as the PV fans have emerged!!
Go looking...not hard to find.
Those are called cockroaches
Apparently you are exaggerating because you didn't provide links. And if they are diehards, they wouldn't now be Valby fans. Hence, diehard, not die easy. The term commonly refers to people who will die for someone.
TSR conference recap podcast is out:
thanks for posting...I skimmed through. One of the few podcasts that I have found was pretty decent. Covered the complete landscape, The Valby / Tuohy discussion was interesting.
Thay aren't die hards then. They are bandwagon jumpers. Nothing wrong with that though either. Alwas nice cheer for the winner. It make life a lot easier. After all. Die hard fans typically don't know anyone on their chose team. Their associatin is merely due to a parent's association or a favrite color as a child. When it comes to cheering for a runner, it is usually the fastest one or home state one or nicest one or most attractive one. VAlby checks several of those blocks.
SE Regional Entries are out. NC St lists, Bush, Chmiel, Hartman, Hendrix, Howlett, Mareno, Quarzo, Rauber, Sefton, Seymour, Starliper, Tuohy. Of these 12, 7 will run Regionals, and 7 (not necessarily the same 7) will run Nationals. Hartman is interesting - been red shirted so far (and doing well) but one would think they would need to be desperate to run her now.
Brown for UNC is listed - hopefully she is once again ok to run after missing ACC.
Mountain region which is packed and at NM does not have athletes listed yet.
mountain region are up
Anyone of note missing? At first glance the only one is Hannah Miniutti of Colorado and Jenna Hutchins of BYU as not listed?
I've never really paid attention to Regionals....the Mountain Region is stacked!!
South Central...

LMAO, you weren't kidding. Not sure why he even needed a guest...
You know, I give the guy credit....he is knowledgeable, and has been around for some time...it is great that he is giving athletes some air-time if they want it. He also asks some good questions....but then carries on and on....
Anyway, not trying to throw shade at him...but it would be good if he he would just the questions / comments short and too the point.
If Parker Valby goes out in 15:20 it's over. She is a front runner, and we will know early if Touhy can hang on.
My bet is that Valby goes out fast and runs a course record time for the win.
Charles Hicks outkicks Nico Young for the men.

I agree Valby takes the lead as usual. Under 5:00 at the top of the first hill (or <2:00 from 1K) and it is a fast pace.
