She cut the course knowing that if she fessed up then she could get out in front of any cheating accusations by witnesses. By fessing up she gives the impression that she did not mean to cut the course. RD lets it slide and probably commends her on her honesty. She notches a finish without having to run the whole thing.
This thread brings it back to the Rd's attention, shows him he was had and he DQ's her.

Yeah, I've got an inside source and can verify this is 100% true. I guess she'd shit her pants pretty bad right between two aid stations.
She tried to make it into the bushes but was half a second too slow and it ended up blasting out, all into her shorts, up her arm, on her watch, etc. It was fortunate she had an extra long t-shirt that race - it was her only saving grace - and she managed to clean up and find her way out of the woods and back on the course. While it's not completely impossible that, during the confusion, she ended up back in a slightly different spot from where she left the course but, you can see, it was an honest mistake.

A more plausible explanation is that the RD learned of this thread and the claim that PM cut the course on her 4th lap, confronted her with that claim, and that after being confronted, she acknowledged that the claim was accurate.
Which brings us to the higher-stakes question of Badwater. It seems to be the case that witnesses have gone to Badwater RD Chris Kostman with claims about PM suspiciously vanishing and reappearing late in the race. If those claims have in fact been brought to Mr Kostman's attention, does anyone know what [if anything] he is doing about investigating them or confronting PM about them?
About your explanation. what a load of horse manure. why bring the honest mistake to our attention NOW after the DQ? The embarassing details are a nice touch.

I'm not sure the Badwater RD has sufficient integrity to actually do something about PM.

No doubt he's also used her in marketing and promoting his race, so kinda puts him in an awkward position. But, if he's got any balls at all, that shouldn't stop him doing the right thing and protecting the integrity of himself and his race.

I have to ask. Not totally up to speed on this topic, but what is this ladies PR for a 26.2 mile marathon? In the video that I just saw, she looks like she could not break 6 hours with her weight and stride. I may be totally wrong and am not trying to do her an injustice, I am merely asking as she is going so very slow. I just don't see how she can do all those races without being torn up from the miles and having to REALLY slow down. Me confused.

I was hooked at the three day sufferfest. Two marathons on day one. Then a 23:00:00 100 miler the very next day! Then on the third day, another marathon. Wow!!!!!! I know I love to run two marathons the day before my smoking fast hundo. And to land that sucker right at 23:00:00 is damn spot on. Then a quick 26.2 mi cool down the day after?!?!? Thank his she was the race director of all 4 races to ensure their complete accuracy!
