Yes, one can speculate in those numbers as a consequence of Jakob’s claims of being so much better in the 10k, HM and maybe even marathon (eventually) than the 3000m. And therefore these claims from Jakob are sort of strange…
People have had the same nonsensical thinking anytime during running history. They discussed the impossibility of a sub 4 mile. Some thought Zatopek was the limit.
When a far from perfect athlete in far from perfect conditions in a far from perfect race can run 12:35.36, just the idea that sub 12:30 might be impossible is laughable.

Jakob said in an interview (in 2023 I believe) that he was in shape to break the WR in the 5000m. And those two longer distance times - well those are maybe sort of logically from Jakob’s mindset, and that’s strange, because it very hard to think he has tumbled with those kind of times in his head (currently)…
I don’t know what Jakob thought about his form in 2024. He has repeatedly stated that his talent and training are more suitable for HM and 10000m than for the the shorter events, but clearly that doesn’t mean that he just can put on his shoes and break the distance WRs anytime he wants, despite having the WR in shorter distances he claim to have an inferior talent in / training for. And for all I know his “running almost nothing for 5 months last winter” in Jakob’s mind could have made a difference in his view on the possibilities in the 3/5k contra 10k/HM in 2024…
What I expect (and I think Jakob expected from himself) is that Jakob (based on his claims) should be in somewhat the same territory as Kiplimo, Kejelcha, Gebrhiwet, Arigawi and Barega when it comes to track and road ability. That means that the Africans in some periods of the year prioritise track, and in some roads. And that probably also means that they can’t do a sub 58 anytime they want, or in any time of the year. So the same with Jakob.
One could say that Jakob prioritises 1500m on the track, whereas at least some of the Africans prioritise 10000m. But this is an over simplification as long as almost all the guys compete in the 3000m (even indoors), and are very good in the event. So it all comes down to a focus from Jakob that is more on the shorter distances, but not so much that he thins down his summer training like most other 1500m/5000m guys. -He is known for being extremely afraid of getting to little mileage / too much speed even during the track season. So one could expect Jakob to have a quite alike base like Kejelcha et co.
I don’t expect Jakob to beat Kiplimo and Kejelcha in a HM, and not even a 10000m. But Jakob has stated that he would do the 10000m in the champs when the schedule allows it, so who knows what he expects…-He certainly wouldn’t be there for silver! But the thing is this: Even without special preparations I would expect Jakob (based on his claims) to be within one minute of the other guys in a HM. -That means that he might blow up in the last couple of kilometres if he goes with f.x Kejelcha in WR pace. But running nearly 6 min off, and being pumped after 27.27 just doesn’t align with the capability and training Jakob has claimed. So I think it’s exciting how he will explain all this -was he extremely off that particularly day..? Or will we see some changes or new found humility in Jakob’s thinking also about the distance events..?

He has stressed that he is better the longer distance, out of the training he is doing now. Not some special training in the future. So you are right to speculate in what that means. But don’t hope for any revealing answers from me; hope from some from Jakob.
What we know is that Jakob is so good in the 3000m that this event might be his sweet spot. And none of your listings would disapprove that… And one cannot automatically “float” from an excellent 3000m to a 5000m WR -Komen for instance didn’t do that, although he ran very good in the 5000m as well, and came close to the WR. But that could easily be explained by a good 5k capability in itself, and not this “floating” thing…
So is Jakob a super fast 5000m runner? -We simply don’t know! If his sweet spot for some reason is the 3000m he might not…
Speculation: Jakob is so good in the 3000m that it’s unlikely that he is better or as good in any other event. But it’s not impossible. -If Jakob’s sweet spot f.x is around 4000m he would probably be as good in the 5000 as in the 3000m, meaning maybe around 12.30 (because I think he can run faster than 7.17)…
So where is Jakob’s sweet spot? -For now I would say not above 3000m, because he seems to fade drastically when the distances is 8k (u20 WC xc) or 10k. So no 5000m WR for now, in my opinion. But I hope I’m wrong…

Come on -I didn’t pretend to do a history lesson with minute correct details. I think I remember Komen beat Haile’s 5000m WR with some 2 sec, ( 12.39 high) before Haile bounced back the year after with 12.39 low…
My point was that you don’t automatically float to being the best 5000m runner of your era based on a fast 3000m pb. Because Bekele’s 12.37 turned out to be the best in that time period, despite his (and Haile’s) significantly slower 3000m.

Slow times by fast runners are tactical races. Since you probably only run slow times because they are your limit you wouldn't know that.
My mile time is faster than your pedestrian 4:30. I am a woman, by the way.
Since I am over 70 and don't run any more that isn't much to brag about. But at 25 I would have made you look utterly pedestrian - whether the race was tactical or flat-out. But for you someone else's tactical race is your fastest.

So if Kejelcha (who trains for 3000m and above) compared to Jakob (who trains for 1500m and above)had run his HM in Copenhagen September 15. instead of October 27., what time do you think he could have managed? 57 high? 58 low? (Like Kiplimo had in the exact same race as Jakob, after prioritising one of the exact same track events as Jakob -the 5000m; 12.40)? 58 high?
So you don’t see a problem with a guy who claims having HM as his best distance (under good conditions and circumstances of course) gets beaten by almost 6 min by a guy who even had worse pacing? A guy who’s only excuse for the bad performance is a little to small gap between his track and roads/xc focus, and 36 hours since last competition? So let’s not be petty and let’s therefore give Jakob one minute for that, but 6..!!? And then I haven’t even mentioned his shape by the 10k mark….

I believe Jakob could have run 60 for the half had he gone out at that pace. That would put him 2:30 behind Kejelcha.

I don't know how familiar you are with Jakob's periodization. He had spent the last months working mostly on his speed as he tried for the 1500m, 1 Mile, 2000m, 3000m, 2 Mile records.
