He was on Dan Patrick's show this morning and said he used to play football but couldn't catch the ball.
If he didn't start playing football in Texas, he probably isn't going to go that route.
I read he was 6'2" and 171 lbs, can anyone verify that?
Football is where the money is. The kid should put a few pounds on and be a defensive back if he can't catch.

tJeff Dempst fell into the NFL rabbit hole. Gave up on focusing on track for the chance to be in the NFL.

Actually Lemaitre's top end speed was similar to Bolt's. He wowed a lot of people when he got going. His starts and transitions were horrible however. His downfall was that he was poorly trained/coached and he didn't leave the poor coaching system. If Lemaitre was American, he'd be racing 9.7-9.8 every year. I don't think Boling is as naturally fast as Lemaitre.

Top speed, no—at least not yet. CL does vmax really, really well. CL is one of the very fastest likely clean sprinters in history over both 100 and 200m, his 200m being the better. Would also be great at 300m.
Boling has serious potential, esp in the NCAA system, something that CL did not have. He is an excellent size, and he has a transition. I have no idea if he’s clean or not, but if he has done this cleanly, then he’s a sub-10 for sure if he stays healthy.
CL would have been 9.7 if he’d accepted an American system. Boling just might get 9.8-high eventually, but we need to see some serious developments for that.
CL isn’t anywhere near the best comparison for Boling, however. The fact that they are both white doesn’t mean shiite—but none of the guys I’m thinking of for comparison actually went 9.8.

He said he had to "beg" his coach to let him run the 100m at a spring break meet, then he popped off the fastest time in the nation. His start isn't great, he just started running the short sprints after focusing on long sprints/jumps, and he just ran the fastest all-conditions time ever (probably worth top 5-10 all-time HS performers)...I'd agree his upside is huge.
