99% of injuries that runners suffer happen in training.

So really one has to wonder why Andre De Grasse would be putting himself in that situation literally one week out from what he himself referred to as the entire focus of his year. Make sense? No?
Especially as his racing has been pretty sparse in Europe - I wouldn't be expecting his body to be on the edge of breakdown at this point in the season. In fact, given that he and his coach have any clue what they are doing (lets assume they do given he has run well under both 10 seconds for the 100 and 20 seconds for the 200) this scenario seems more and more unlikely.
So either Mr De Grasse and his coach are complete buffoons for even putting themselves in a situation where this might happen literally a week from the World Championships, or this story is a complete crock of monkey sh$t and there is an intricate mess of money and politics driving all of this.

I'm as suspicious as anyone here, but I'm not sure it's that uncommon for athletes to get one last hard workout in the week of a championship event.
Depends on the athlete and how their bodies respond though. I've heard of guys doing high weight low reps the day before a big meet because it's what their body responds to.
I always liked doing a hard workout the Tuesday before a big Fri/Sat meet for example, resting Wednesday, then just doing some technical stuff the day before the meet or handoffs in relays. But to each their own.
Yohan Blake has adjusted his image with a new clean look, helloooooooooooo. New World Champion. Bolt is too proud to be 3rd, so what do you do eliminate the competition. Watch and See.

No way.
Many runners get injured during the racing season when they are not in the heavy phase of training.
I agree that more than 50% but not 99%.
And some injuries are small bothersome ones that can hit you quick with one overreaching effort, like a short 20m burst that someone preparing for a big meet might do.
DaGrasse hasn't been racing at all recently. He may have been bothered by a nagging injury or took the time to press too hard in training.
To me, an injury right now is not suspicious.

Yohan Blake pulled out of Rabat DL 3 weeks algo) due to a minor injury. Now apparently he's fine. But not in 100% shape, so 9.87/9.88 could be his celing.
Gatlin is aging, I dont see him running faster than 9.86/9.85...in a good day.

de grasse had 2 choices:
1) run against bolt in the 100m and "they" would cause him to fail a test. "they" being the iaaf, wada etc....
or
2) claim injury, pull out of the 100m and we will make you the next 100m star.
what do you think you would choose? the shitty thing is, no matter how much juice they fill de grasse with i dont see him being the next star. if wayde drops a 9.7 that will be problematic to de grasse as i see him as a 9.80-82 a best even on the best of juice.

Very overrated anyway - he only broke 10 once this year and that was wind aided! Before Monaco he made a big deal about being kicked out of the 100 because of Bolt, and now he won’t even be showing up at worlds. People calling him the next Bolt are not very smart, even if he was healthy he still wouldn’t be able to beat the Bolt of 2017.

This. I have been amused over the past couple of months at all the news articles about DeGrasse being "the next Bolt" or having the baton passed to him as the next World's Fastest Man.
Pshaw. DeGrasse was never going to medal at this WC, even fully healthy and at peak condition.
Bolt, meanwhile, will earn silver or bronze.
Coleman, Blake, & Gatlin ALL were going to beat DeGrasse anyway, and at least one of those (probably 2) will beat Bolt.
