Blakenship made the move that set Robbie up for the win. I was waiting for Centro to take control with 200 to go but he couldn't handle the long kick.

How on earth does Blankenship finish 5th-6th or so at the Olympics but finish 12th at USA's? Things aren't adding up. Yes there are bad days but I'm sorry I'm not the type to call for doping but that Olympic race is way out of the ordinary for him. Afraid to see his name come up and getting suspsended.

I'm sure I should know this, but . . . . Is Centro the only one in the field with the standard?

Going with Blankenship on the last lap probably had more to do with it.

How many times have we seen Blankenship take off only to fade well before the finish?

Or maybe I should ask, how many time have we seen Blankenship not take off too soon? He should be the poster-boy for the LRC "run like a real man" crowd.

Efraimson, should have gone to college, this is not the same experience. Sure she will run some fast times, but she will not have the meaningful victories a top college athletes experiences. She will never be part of a team and a big win. Never be All-American, just not the big deal. Money would have come anyways.

Does anyone after Gregorek have the standard other than Blankenship and Murphy?

I could only find Gregorek, Blankenship, and Murphy as others with the standard that were in the finals today.

Yes, I wonder how fast the penultimate 200m was. Blankenship killed his own race and probably took the sting out of Centro's finish too

Jenkins looked good. Rowbury has been running well, just a strange choice on the double (in my opinion). Rupp didn't run very well, but who cares. He is a marathon guy now, right? Osako won the Japanese 10,000m championship easily. Seems like stuff is going okay for them.

Rupp threw a temper tantrum after the race and refused to talk to the media. I think he cared.

Centro loses the 1500 crown. Rowbury made the team but didn't win anything and got blown out in the 1500 to boot.

Maybe they are off their meds.

I'm really sick of these winners and qualifiers thanking God. Yeah, I'm sure his "plan" extends to who gets the top three in a track race.

Well first of all he was 8th at the Olympics, not 5th or 6th, second his move with 500 to go was a bit too big in my opinion. Especially in this heat. That's a pretty weird way to bring up doping though. You're in over our head. He also got pretty wrecked at Pre in the last lap after taking the lead with 600 to go.

Murphy has been in the absolute worst heats for the double. He had to run 1:45.7 yesterday in the 800 and he had to run 3:40 in the 1500 the other day. I think he easily could have made both teams if he got into slower heats.
