Look, I'm an anti-Bush "liberal" (actually, I try to look at facts, not propaganda or over-heated argument from the left or right). South Africa is the wealthiest sub-Saharan African country by some measures, but still has massive poverty on a level that would -- or at least should imo -- shock many Americans.

However, there is no human right to be a rich and famous pro athlete. The IOC likes to promote the public image of an Olympics that is all about fair athletic competition in the name of international friendship, but it is really about money. Pro sports is a business, and part of the entertainment industry, which is all about selling myths and fantasies.

The whole idea of having male and female divisions, and weight divisions in boxing and wrestling, (and also no performance-enhancing drugs) is to promote the image of success in sports as possible for everyone, even though the reality is, most of us could never win an Olympic medal under any circumstances. If a small number of people with hyperandrogenism have some female characteristics but also a high level of testosterone and visibly massive, muscular bodies, and one or more of them become dominant in track or field, that hurts the image of success in sports as possible for all, and is bad for business. In the end, if the business is bad, that hurts the sport as well.

I feel like LRC has beaten this issue to death and most of us runners- liberal and conservative- do not support her competing as a female for reasons of sex as opposed to gender. I read the argument elsewhere that people should appreciate her incredible talent, but that's exactly the problem... with her (clearly evident) androgen responsiveness sub-2:00 in the 800m does not reflect exceptional talent.

The questions I have for those who disagree would be (1) Would you object to unlimited androgen supplementation for all female athletes, and (2) If you do not support differentiation between male and female based on some (albeit arbitrary and imperfect) physiological criteria, would you have any problem with transgender women competing with the women (a la if Bruce Jenner had competed as Caitlyn in the heptathlon rather than the men's decathlon)? I'm not equating intersex and transgender, but precisely because there is a spectrum of sex there needs to be a physiological dividing line if we want to have separate categories.

Most of the people who are reporters writing about this in the news are non athletic people who dont even report normally on athletics. They are social justice warrior LGBT activists with a blog or journalist with a left wing website. They know nothing about track nor do they care. Track to them is a social experiment ground. These people stick their nose in everything with their agendas. I believe this 100%. In the videos of SJW that I have seen, the men usually appear to be low-T and the women are either really fat or otherwise very physically unattractive in some way.

That type of person definitely feels inferior to someone born with "beauty privilege" or whatever excuse they make for someone attractive.

In the 800m final, few heterosexual men would deny that Bishop, Jozwik, Sharpe, and Kate Grace are very attractive. Couple that with the fact that each of them is white and the SJW are just salivating while waiting for any one of those women to complain about the fact that the three medalists are very masculine-looking and ugly.
