You are not bursting my bubble. Sounds like you have an impressive list of legitimate PRs. Again, kudos to those who put in the miles and reaped the benefits. Here is an example of what I mean: Guy I run with when asked PRs always say 1:08:30 for Half Marathon. However, he never broke 15:30 for 5k, 32min for 10k or 2:40 Marathon. Conclusion: the Half was short. Another friend claims a good 5k PR, but I ran the race and KNOW it was short by 20+sec. Other PRs not even close.Interesting to see the posts about certified course that was not actually the course run. I have seen this myself on multiple occasions. A 10K I ran recently was USATF Certified, but was easily 200m short. They just set up the cones in the wrong place for a turn around. Several of us were pissed because we knew it was not legitimate (and everybody's GPS showed 6.0Xmi). It is really easy to believe a great time in a long race when there are no splits out on the course, no GPS, etc., but most people know what they are actually capable of running and their other PRs will be in line at all distances. 30 years later, it is easy to say you ran X time and forget those discussions on the cool down where somebody said "You think the course was accurate?".

Sorry to pop your bubble buddy, but I'm over 50, my first and only marathon was Boston in 1979, ran 2:23, not happy with it, but that is it. Also, ran 48:24 for 10 miles at Cherry Blossom 1980, 29:30 for 10k at Peachtree 1981, ran 45:21 for 15k at Gasparilla 1980, pretty sure all were legit courses.
