Chelsea you and I are in agreement - why Jordan why? why Alberto why?
Note she is entered in the 5000 in Zurich this week!
She will be back on the track in 4 months when Alberto has her racing with Mary in the early January 3k in Seattle.
Wonder what the record is for most meters over say 60,000 meters in a season in total distance and time covering such distance in races???
I haven't read all these posts, but to answer the question why the heck is Jordan Hasay still racing? I would say because she loves running, is competitive, and doesn't care a damn what the naysayers or critics on this board have to say. I wish more runners had her inspiration and desire to perform and race at her level of enthusiasm. It would make the sport much more popular and interesting.
Today she got lapped and DNF'd. I wonder if NOW it is time to pull the plug?
Heck no, Hasay is the whole f'ing show! She can DNF and still get 10 times the internet chatter than Jenny S or Molly H. Seriously can those 2 be any blander!

Yes. Time to pack it in and recover for next year. I was supportive of her getting some experience after Worlds, but now it has just gotten embarrassing and she's going to get injured at this rate.
I agree as she must be physically and mentally exhausted from a long year of racing. Time for a break and then build for next year.
Good experience running in DL races, but bad
psychologically getting a DNF today and end the season on a bad note.
Seriously though, all joking aside, I hope this episode makes people think twice next time they want to talk about what a genius Salazar is, and how carefully he plans every little detail, and how he makes sure he brings along his athletes slowly and gradually.
I mean, come on! If I, Chelsea Manning, some random poster on the internet, can spot from a mile away that someone is overraced - somebody that I don't even usually pay attention to, but am only aware of because I see her name approximately 850 million times a day - and then, in case anybody doubted that she was really overraced, her next race unfolds EXACTLY as you would expect for someone who is overraced, what does that make me? Sir Isaac Einstein-Hawking?
Although I will concede that it was good to get some DL experience....experience with how to hang out in the back of the pack, and then fade. Thanks Alberto!!

My guess is that there is $$$$ involved plus she needs experience on the circuit.

It's wonderful being a young, attractive single woman running around Europe in late summer with all expenses paid. I'm sure Jordan enjoyed running around in front of thousands of people and it didn't bother her in the least that she was lapped a few times. What an epic trip.

Being that she was a college stud, her NCAA racing was predictable. She is also good enough to turn pro and chase the wc dream. Her season for all intensive purposes, was over in Moscow. She stayed in Europe to get a little more experience. Money doesn\'t hurt either. Now she will race sparingly for the rest of her career.
