WOW. I think Paula Radcliffe just confirmed that Makau missed the start. Did anyone else hear that?

He has his own pacemaker with him now so that would imply perhaps that he did miss the start and they kept a pacer for him.

If he got dropped I don't see why a pacer would stay with him.

Women's race Edna Kiplagat looked to be pulling away as she got 2 seconds up at 30k but now Jeptoo is back with her.

Let's see if the pace settles as it was probably too hot too early. But for them to make CR or WR, they've got to keep it under 4:45.

Kiplagat 1:40:18 at 30k - 2 second lead over Jeptoo. KF. iplagat is 12 seconds arrears. Melkamu in 4th. Jeptoo has caught back up back up.

anyone else notice Pat Rizzo coming through 10k in 30:50ish? i think thats 2:10 pace. maybe with that last pacer for 64:30?

Did I just hear this correctly about Lelisa: 9th at World Cross, win Boston Marathon, and now a week later is in the lead pack at London Marathon?

Different guy won Boston.

Announcers think MO is getting dropped. He's not. He's juststrying to stay out of the way in the back. This isn't hard for him.

Thanks. Then Paula must have said, "we can confirm he was on the start." So disregard what I said about her saying he was not on the start. She must have confirmed he was there, but I do find it strange he has his own pace still.

Priscah Jeptoo ran 5:11 for the 21st mile to pull ahead of Kiplagat. The women have been flying recently.

Here are the splits according to race feed from 17-21.

Bear in mind 5:20 a mile is 2:20 pace.

So after a slower 20th mile (still faster than a 2:20 pace), Jeptoo put down the hammer.
