Not true, he actually got his career going playing bad guys.
Yeah, I thought about that after posting that. However, I think when he does play a bad guy he is still the same guy, he just doesn't do The Right Thing. Dobbs in The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is what Rick from Casablanca would have become if he hadn't given Laszlo and Ilsa the letters of transit and gone off with Louis to join the Free French garrison in Brazzaville.

Steven Siegal (spelling?)
Can anybody top that as a one (or half) dimensional piece of shit "actor"?
How could this thread forget Sandra Bullock? Before The Blind Side, she played herself in every film.
Will Smith always plays Will Smith. I'll admit that I haven't seen Ali, but all his other movies are essentially Will Smith in various stories. Will Smith is an alien-hunting government agent. Will Smith is a pilot tasked with saving the world. Will Smith is a dating expert. Will Smith is poor. Will Smith is a policeman who inexplicably drives a $100,000+ car.
Will Smith has got to get him one of these. Will Smith got one of these and is angry that you destroyed it. And so on.
Morgan Freeman: Ex-Cop, Cop or Incarcerated.

How could you forget Driving Miss Daisy? Or Bruce Almighty?
These guys have already been mentioned, I'm just whole-heartedly agreeing:
Will Farrell
Hugh Grant
Vince Vaughn (same frat-boy every time)
Unless I missed it, these guys have yet to be mentioned:
Burt Reynolds always plays Burt Reynolds
David Spade always plays David Spade.

My thoughts exactly - for instance "What's Eating Gilbert Grape - awesome....along with Leonardo DiCaprio
And who said Hanks - are you stupid? Philadelphia, Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, Castaway, and his chick flicks...all different roles.
Hugh Grant is the guy who ALWAYS plays the same role - bumbling Englishman who stumbles into some kind of relationship with a hottie.
Jack Black pretty much plays himself - even he admits that!
James Caan always plays the same guy.
And whoever said Dustin Hoffman had great range - spot on.
Humphrey Bogart - uh, no...another one with great range.
John Candy/John Beluschi/Chris Farley - all the same characters...and dead too soon.
Except that on the rare occasions when he grants in-depth interviews, writers consistently note their surprise that he is not, in fact, at all like any of the characters he plays in his movies.

He plays a completely different role in Six Degrees of Separation.
Ben Stiller plays some eccentric, funny characters, not obvious dullards, in Heavyweights and School for Scoundrels
I would agree with people who say Tommy Lee Jones plays the same character. I can't think of a movie where he isn't some type of cop, or agent K in MIB. Such a sick movie!
i can't believe nobody has said Paul Walker.
I can't believe it's not butter
More people would say Paul Walker if they knew who he was. I do, but I don't think many do.
All I know s that the absolute worst actor in the world is Orlando Bloom.
