What 400m pr is required to run a 2:10 marathon

Any slow-twitch guy will tell you that with 60 second 400m speed, holding 5:00 pace through 10K is a challenge.

If a guy like Munoz had run the NCAA cross, when he was 18-22, he would have been annihilated by most of the field.

Hard to say. Assuming this 400 is done while in good marathon shape, but assuming they're having a good go at it and are rested. No 400-specific sessions or practice start before. Basically replacing on of their workouts with a 400m race in the middle of training.

I bet a literal handful of elite marathoners could bust out a 51/52.

I bet most are capable of 55/56.

Maybe some slowpokes would struggle to break 60.
