Bad priorities? he was in Japan doubling at the worlds. Are you saying he should have skipped worlds to prioritze the US XC trials? Hes going to be fine. There are reasons that distance runners need big training blocks to get in peak shape. They don’t just come in and dominate off of 6 or 7 weeks of training.
Let’s see how Nico looks at XCWC next month and then this spring. The concern is that he ends up second to the top Nike Swoosh TC men, not because he isn’t talented, but because of the setup. I hope I’m wrong. I’m a Nico fan and genuinely think he’s the future of U.S. distance running. But it’s hard to ignore the reality, training inside a Nike system as a non Nike athlete puts him in a weird spot. That environment is designed to optimize Nike athletes first. Nico risks becoming an outsider in someone else’s machine ( money machine) and you don’t become the best in the country or the world by playing supporting roles in another brand’s program.
Explain to me how the set up of Nico running with Nike-sponsored runners has changed his training. Be very specific. Or are you just speculating based on one performance 10 weeks after World Champs?
The course in Tallahassee, provided it is dry, is much different than what they had to deal with in Portland. Some guys just don't have the stride for dealing with the mud and lose a lot of efficiency--I used to lose to guys by a minute in a muddy XC 8k who I would beat by 30+ seconds in a track 5k. Since world XC could be a glorified track 10k (assuming same course as prior NCAAs hosted there), I think Nico will be much more competitive.
Good thing that Rekrunner only reads doping threads. Otherwise you'd be sorry 😞
Ha! Too late. He gets notifications if you mention Foolagain or WreakRunner, and has his canned Presumtions replies ready to altC and altV.
"sdesd" was early. It is you who was too late. And it was WADA who canned the presumptions in their Code, binding all athletes, anti-doping organizations and arbitraitors.
