This explains his season. Wonder where the rest of the MI team went.

Are you new to track? Kessler was faster at 21 than Hocker was at 22. If born in the same year, Kessler would have beaten Hocker dozens of times by now.
Not sure how to respond to this I am laughing too hard?
Thoughtsleader?

Huh? Kessler is no Hocker. Not to this point in their careers.
Kessler and Henner will have to take a look at the training and tweak it wherever they feel necessary. It may require a more drastic change...who knows? Returning to 82 yr old Warhurst is highly unlikely. That said, he'll need to reverse this slide quickly to avoid becoming irrelevant on the global scene. There are simply too many guys his equal or better.

Need some clips
He’s got all the talent. Hobbs can turn this around, but this isn’t 2000. The US is amazing at the 1500m. He can’t stick with Henner and his dad coaching him another season. It will be too late then.
Hobb’s seems to be easily influenced by people who talk a good game. Henner hasn’t been a coach anyone but 16 year old girls have talked about in a long time.
Suprised Safesport hasn’t stepped in after the Athens situation
At the point that Keasler is, he is ahead of where Hocker was. This isn't an opinion. Facts seem troubling for some of you. That doesn't mean that he will progress, just that he is ahead. It is like saying Lutenkuas is ahead of Brazier at this point in his career. Or like saying Hedegren is ahead of Schweizer.
Yeah I'll second that I think Henner is excellent purely for workouts, but preparing his athletes mentally historically seems to be a weak link

Getting my posts deleted by the mods for supposedly 'low content' now? What an immature child you are SpadeDetector.
Do the mods actually think that Kessler hasn't been mentally exhausted by losing out in the trials to a Kenyan who has chopped off 6 seconds or more in one year at 29?

why on earth would 16yo girls be talking about Henner?
With all the talk about him not running long enough, I thought it was interesting that he posted a 15 mile long run today to Strava.

Why are people talking about Hobbs making a coaching change? He’s had a couple bad races, mostly due to mental letdowns.
Do people not remember all the fuss about his great training methods just 12-18 months ago?
I dunno about mental letdowns seeing as how his problem has beeen the final 200m of a race. Everyone can give their all in the last 200m of a mile or 1500m race. It's the 3rd and maybe 2nd lap where your commitment is tested
In 2022 there were loads of comments about how Josh Kerr was underperforming compared to 2021. He had run 3:29 for a third place at the Olympics and only got fifth place in 3:30 at world's. He was quite clearly on a downward spiral in his mid-twenties, yet he managed to do okay in the following years. Kessler had a great season last year and continued well into the indoor season this year. His outdoor performances have been weak by his standards, but at 22 years old I suspect it's a little too early to write him off. There are so many things that can affect a performance and it doesn't take a huge issue to go from 1:43/3:29 to 1:44/3:31.
Hobbs Kessler completely washed?
I duno OP, you tell me
