Define "successful career." She is an Olympian already. That is more successful than probably at least 95% of US pro distance runners. In fact, she is the youngest US 10000m runner ever and the 4th youngest ever at longer than 1500m - O'Brien: Marathon (1 year younger), Huber: 3000m (about 7 months younger), and Coburn: Steeple (about a month younger). She will make quite a few future US teams. Will she ever medal? Who knows. But you do not need to be on the podium at the Olympics to have a "successful career."
I am defining successful as relevant on the world stage. No US women is currently relevant above 1500m. And really only Nikki is there and they aren’t a women so not sure how to count them
I think our women's steeplers are relevant. Em Sisson in the marathon. If Houlihan can get back into PR shape, maybe her in the 5000.
I have given up on most of the others (Cranny, Monson, Schweizer, et al) making the jump.
Seems like Emma is enjoying having her around. Both are constantly posting stuff. Parker is practically part of the family now. LOL. I don’t know how one could return to Boston after spending significant time training in that setting.

Please list all the times she has had her doors blown off in last 400-800? We keep saying that but its not a thing with her. And she held firm at the olympics and trials on last lap.
Bud, you can count on one hand the amount of pro or world class races she has participated in and all but for the Olympic Trials 10K, which she still only closed in ~67, she has been absolutely torched in the final 400m in every non college race she has participated in. In the Paris Olympic 10K she was dropped by over 15 seconds over the last last 600m, so that is far from "holding firm." It's a real problem and everyone knew this. It will remain a real problem for her unless she can somehow learn to front run a 14 flat 5K or 29 flat 10k, but then she'll still have 3-4 women right behing her and dropping a 58 on her.
PV needs to move to the roads and the marathon and do it as soon as possible. Otherwise this will be the biggest bust in contract history.

She's going to be a bust anyway with her injury history. Even oft-injured Emily Infeld managed to get up to 80 miles per week when she was going through periods of healing. PV cannot do that.

You don't need to look any further than another 2024 grad to find a much, MUCH bigger contract bust. Valby is and forever will be an Olympian ... she can never be a bust now.
And another 2024 grad who has made bigger strides. Who cares? We aren't talking about other '24 grads, we're talking about Valby, who, by the way, I am not writing off. I am, however, waiting for her to show me she can be more than a great collegiate runner.

Making Olympic team in 2 events, placing 11th after briefly leading with less than 800m to go. Sounds like a bit more than just "a great collegiate runner" to me.
