The only thing the court found Gjert guilty of doing was striking his daughter one time with a little towel. I haven't seen any allegations of him striking Narve or Jose. I've seen no allegations of Gjert abusing Narve or Jose in any way. The only thing I've seen is Gjert say he expects the runners he coaches to follow his training program. As you admit, there is nothing abusive about that.
Coaching is different than parenting. Gjert's abilities as a parent have no bearing on his performance as a coach. Coaching and parenting are two different roles requiring different sets of knowledge and skills. Someone can be bad at one role and good at the other. Gjert won't be winning any Father of the Year awards, but he is a great coach.
What Gjert has shown by his behaviour towards his family members, and that includes those he has coached, is that he has a controlling and abusive personality. That is why he has a criminal conviction. Striking his daughter in the face was part of a pattern of behaviour his family (that includes Jakob) claim to have experienced for years. Gjert has himself admitted he cannot be differed with and it also appears that he doesn't manage his anger. His character will not change when he relates to those he coaches - he is who he is. That isn't to say he has struck those he has coached but that his controlling personality and tendency towards abusive behaviour will still be present. He may well be an expert coach - that isn't the issue - but he has shown that it doesn't pay to incur his wrath. Putting it simply, he may be a skilled coach but he is also an ****hole. Your kids - and that includes one of the foremost Olympians of this era - wouldn't take you to court unless that was so.
You are having difficulty separating the parenting issues from his coaching performance. They are separate domains.
When you say "it doesn't pay to incur his wrath," what exactly do you think is going to happen with the fully grown adult men Gjert is coaching? Do you think he's going to strike Narve and Jose with a little towel, which is the one and only thing the court found him guilty of doing? Do you think he's going to take away their video games, which he admitted to doing with his children? Is he going to forbid them from going out to parties late at night? Please: spell out your concern about his professional coaching relationship with adult men.
I shall remind you that Gjert's professional coaching of Narve isn't new. They've been working together for years now. Narve sticking with Gjert as his coach through all the family conflict and legal issues is a testament to how highly Narve thinks of Gjert as his coach. And now we see the positive results with Jose. These men are flourishing as athletes with Gjert as their coach. You say yourself that Gjert is an expert coach. So what exactly is the problem with him doing the job he excels at?
He wasn't convicted. If he had been convicted he wouldn't be coaching now. Yup, he was a super stern father. Did he beat his progeny? Probably not. Society though, has gone the other way Molly coddling kids to the extent that they live in a bubble devoid of sensible reality.
Gjert Ingebrigtsen was given a 15-day suspended sentence after being found guilty of hitting the double Olympic champion’s younger sister, Ingrid, in the face with a wet towel.
My bad: You're right, it's a conviction which normally stays on record, but if Mr ING. respects the conditions of his suspended sentence, in most countries, he could have his conviction wiped from his record. Become as good as non convicted again.
I imagine at this time, Mr ING might find it challenging to travel to countries like the U S. where they specifically ask tourists whether they have a conviction. Most countries don't bother, though.I doubt Mr ING is interested in travelling to the U.S.

His most famous athlete, who is also one of his sons and whom he has coached, levelled criminal charges against him. There is no clear line between parenting and coaching with Gjert because he demonstrates the same character in both roles. Jakob has shown that by seeking his prosecution.

What happens to Gjert's career is another issue. The fact is however that he has incurred a criminal conviction for assaulting his daughter while also being accused of abusive conduct by his famous son. That tells us a lot about the kind of person he is. It is also telling that he effectively says that as a coach he will not be defied. Whatever expertise he offers as a coach clearly comes with the additional luggage that he can also be a very unpleasant man - even a tyrant. Great coaches don't need to also be ****holes.

I'm not asking you about Gjert coaching his sons or his daughter, nor am I asking about what Jakob alleged Gjert did many years ago when Jakob was a child. I'm asking you about the fully grown men Gjert currently coaches, with whom he has no familial relation. You keep evading my questions. What exactly is your concern about Gjert coaching Narve and Jose?

I am not claiming that Gjert has done the same things to the athletes he now coaches as he did to his daughter and was also claimed by Jakob. I am saying Gjert is the same person, with the same character traits, who says he will not be defied by those he coaches. One way or another those he coaches will most likely experience his character traits, which he has shown are at least controlling and even abusive. We saw an example of that when he swore at Filip during a race.

Whenever i think of gjert im reminded of ma junren the infamous chinese coach of the 90s. Read into that what you will......

When you say "one way or another," please elaborate. What exactly are you envisioning Gjert will do to Narve and Jose other than coaching them to massive PRs like he's already done?
I know this topic is old, but I didn’t saw the need of start a new one, I have been trying to follow what he posts in instagram and isn’t he doing some crazy workouts up there? I mean 23km per hour in the treadmill during threshold? What can we expect from his indoors? I saw in a Portuguese news website saying he would not go hard in indoors, maybe he is just aiming for outdoors?
