Jakob previously said that with this injury, he would have trained through it if it occurred closer to meets that mattered. He'll be fine. He was just being cautious and thinking big picture.
By “thinking big picture” I assume you mean not getting gold in yet another global 1500m final, right?
Why is N Lar running Euro U23? He will crush them all and the inevitable huge victory will prove nothing. Why not make DL bank at London?
In Europe most countries give out good money for youth euro medals, and the PR exposure is also better, since Euros are not behind a paywall like the DL.
Let’s face it: the man is done. He has a good looking wife, a young kid and has lost the motivation provided by his abusive father / coach. He no longer has true hate in his heart. Without true hate, he will have a hard time winning a local turkey trot, let alone a diamond league race.
Lol. He had inflamed achilles, nothing to do with motivation.

Probably from carrying the baby, doing manual labor for the wife or playing fetch with the dog. His abusive father wouldn’t have allowed for such distractions.
It's annoying that London hasn't announced anymore names for the 1500. Olli Hoare is in but I doubt any Americans will show up with USAs so close. We could still get Laros, Habz, Mills, and Koech. I'd like to see Kerr put under pressure to run fast. I've seen him kick home in 3:35 races this year, what has he got in a 3:29 race?
You won’t get any Kenyans as their Trials are now a couple days later. Agree no Americans, either. Laros, Mills, Gourley and Wightman feel like locks. Would expect Habz, Nordas and Nader too. Probably filled out with the tier down of Aussies/Kiwis and Europeans.
I think Wightman said he's doing an 800 soon? Thinking he might choose the 800 in London instead of 1500. Pretty sure Myers will be there
You see folks, didn't I told you all so ain't it??????????????
I was right after all ain't it?????????????
Mark 7:10
" For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’ and ‘Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.’"
PUT TO DEATHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the context of Jakob's running career it simply means the DEATH OF HIS RUNNING CAREER AND GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TALENT TAKEN AWAY FROM HIM JUST LIKE THAT VIA ACHILLES INJURY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't you all see the prophecy of the scriptures, you can't go wrong folks, you can't escape, it's inviolable prophecy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jakob sinned against mummy and daddy, ostensibly prevaricated in court, conspired with big brothers to set a trap for daddy!!!!!!!!!
You are too young to know history. You weren't even born when I was touting the likes of Paul Ereng, John Ngugi, the little Hicham El Kingdom Triple Love Guerrouj and Haile Gebrselassie and Paul Tergat and later Kenenisa Bekele!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guys like Bekele, Haile, Tergat in the 90s and early 2000s before the advent of widespread anthropogenic GSM were running XC, indoor and outdoors without injury. Bekele in particular the GOAT whom Jakob wants to emulate was effortlessly winning XC, indoor and outdoors despite typhoid, losing his girlfriend and whatnot, and he didn't even have an alter G treadmill or COROS watch, didn't have supershoes or superspikes, he was so durable you feelin me?????????
If you want to be GOAT, first of all I want to see your durability!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are getting injured at 23, 24 and in major body parts like Achilles that's a red flag you feelin me snowflakes????????????????? You are JUST NOT AS TALENTED as Bekele because part of talent equation is the degree of durability and you need to be impossibly durable, we need to see impossible-ness and we saw that with Bekele winning short and long course 4km sprint and 12km endurance with less than 24 hours rest and probably less than 5-6 hours of sleep in between!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jakob is nowhere one eighth as durable after factoring in supershoes and doped track surfaces you feelin me ironically even while using an 'advantageous' RF wearable in the COROS watch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are supposed to be jealous that Bekele with no wearable technology and no supershoes technology was a 100 times more durable at 23, 24 years old than Jakob with the same technology that supposedly allows him to train more efficiently and prevent himself from overexerting and injuring you feelin me??????????????????
So I'm asking you Mr Snowflakes, where is your logic here you feelin me???????????
Worst, some people on this thread believe you gave a 'perfect' response how is that possible???????????????? I don't see anything astute or sharp-witted from you, only the illusion of so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You lack of mastery of sequential space-time and interplay between physics and human physiology is screaming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If anything, a 12 year old who read the space-time history of Bekele and Jakob is going to conclude that COROS had a part to play in Jakob's injury or downfall you feelin me!!!!!!
You see Snowflakes, how wondrous God works in Jakob's downfall. He caused Jakob to snub his daddy which led him to lust after COROS because in the absence of daddy's presence he was going to be seduced by the attraction of COROS, the 'mistress' so to speak, and so through the snubbing of daddy God led Jakob to his downfall just like that!!!! It's all fated, destiny, one leads to another, irreversible and iresistible!!!!!!!!!!! I hope to be wrong, I hope Jakob wakes up one morning and hugs daddy again and we will all wet our pants in shock as he also regains his career, his achilles and find new energy and suddenly know to discard COROS for daddy's genius instead!!!!
Cheers
Khamis

Wightman is actually entered in an 800 in Italy tomorrow, not sure what that means for London
Yes, he's healthy. He's just undertrained at the moment. He hasn't been at altitude since April. It's a HUGE priority.
Exactly - and why meet Josh Kerr in London for his first outdoor race.
I'm not saying he should, but Jakob raced Kerr in his first race back from injury last year and only narrowly lost at Pre. If he did race London, even coming back from injury, the worst he finishes is second. And that's assuming Kerr himself is in shape. There's rumours he's been carrying a little knock
