i have the 1km equivalent to 141.9 ish and not the 142.5 some suggest.
the 800 record should be 140 low now with the current crop, with Kip Coe Rus at 139 mid with todays stuff, at a minimum, that isn't in the perfect race, a very good race conditions.
and with the bicarb and basket of hacks, the current crop can go 210 low at least, EPO, doping hacks very much allows.

It is widely acknowledged that Coes 1K WR of 2:12.18 is one if the five greatest runs in the history of T&F. IMO it IS the greatest But Hoey could do it given that Ostrava 15.

Coe was alone for the last lap that day (not unusual for Coe) and could have used some help. Also, the pacer did a poor job and failed to move wide. Coe was forced to run around him.
