Because he turned 19 a month ago. He's a college-aged freshman. Of course they can't control when they start kinder, but that still doesn't make it fair
You guys are kinda weird. I’m biased because my Iowa guy won with a crazy last lap, but I thought it was a good race with two kids going deep in the well neck and neck the last 100m, clocking 3:58.65 and 3:59.00. Seems like a good high school mile to me 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah, you're biased. This was hyped up to be a Blockbuster and we get someone almost dying, then a field bunching up after a very manageable pace and only like 3 of those runners having respectable kicks off the slow pace with the majority blowing up

I mean, 6 high school kids closed in 58.06 or faster for 4:02.55 or faster. Not sure what you were expecting but I think your expectations are the problem.
Nauman is the best in the country in head to head racing and he ran dumb...bunch of extra distance, had to come from near last with 500m to go...ran probably 1.05 miles...I don't get why the field went so slow...I was hoping to see 8 guys go under 4 min...great race for Nauman...but the rest of the field should be embarrassed they didn't kick off that pace or that they didn't have the guts to run 3:00 for the first 3 laps...

seriously? you can't tell me this field performed well LOL, yeah, i was expecting more from the field, as was everyone else. i didn't expect a 3:50 from tostenson but come on this was a terrible race save nauman's final 400
5 of them are sub 4 milers and they averaged like 4:03 and not even being competitive at that. all of them were too cowardly to take the lead
yeah when that happened i had a feeling the race was cooked. that will zap energy out of you. still really annoying because i was hoping we'd get something better than arcadia
