I wish they'd stop cutting away from the 3,000m race to the javelin.

Well, this is a sobering reminder of how absurd 8:06 is.
2:44 / 2:46 through 2000m.

The WR is 8:08 right?

8:11.56 to slot in for #2 all time indoors or out. Fastest since Hassan in 2019 outdoors and Dibaba's indoor WR in 2014.

Now that's a surprise. He has been running well in Kenya recently though - including winning a 5000 over 13:04 man Daniel Kimaiyo back in early April
Wait, really? Link to results? He has no results of over a mile listed on his WA profile.
I don't have the results but race video below - it was semi #2 starting at 44:21
I'm pretty sure it wasn't the fastest heat that day

Was going to post exactly this - that was awesome running from an athlete of her stature - and she was still what, 35 or so meters behind the "WR"? Get outta here.
According to the official Wavelight Live page, the green lights were supposed to indicate 8:06.11.
So either they changed it last minute or it's another f-up.

Make no mistake Chebet's 3000m is one of the best ever middle distance times.
Probably didn't have those 5 secs anyway, but wrote:

Well at the start line Cram on commentary said that WL was set to 8.15, I think Wavelight got their wires crossed in terms of what the actual pace was going to be.
That Chebet time is considered a WR by me

Very solid race from Vince Ciattei. I believe his 2nd fastest ever, after his 3:31 for 4th at the 2024 Trials.
8:06.11 Wang Junxia CHN 09.01.73 1 Beijing 13.09.1993
A day earlier she ran 8:12.19 in her heat!!!
One of the most doped athletes of all time?

I didn't watch the whole thing but the race started at 44:30 and ended at 58:15 so looks like he ran a 13:45
