I never recruited at FL Nationals while coaching at Harvard because I was the elite coordinator for CIM, which took place the same weekend. I’m so sorry your daughter had to hear that—I have no idea who it could have been. I can't imagine anyone I knew, whether staff or parent, saying something like that.
