I've seen a few people say this: Are you guys sure you aren't mistaking Nicholas Young of Oklahoma for Nico Young? Nicholas Young is listed in the 3k, last time I checked Nico Young wasn't on the heat sheets.
Both N. Youngs are running the 3k. Nicholas is listed in Heat 4 and Nico is in Heat 7 along with Drew Bosley, Habtom Samuel, Colin Sahlman, Casey Clinger, Nathan Green, and others. Lex Young and teammate Cole Sprout are listed in Heat 6.
That's 5 under the old CR? Insane. Wish we got a full list of splits. I'm curious to see how each team hung on. People are saying 4:24 for Chamberlain? Not shocked, she split 4:26 last year at NCAAs. 3:14 for Whittaker is impressive, it could just be her best distance as a strength based 800 runner, or it could mean big things later this season in the 800 - or both.
I'm looking at the all-time DMR list right now. Did Ramsden seriously split 4:21 last year at Penn!? I don't remember that at all. Thats unbelievable.
How did they get a pacer for the anchor of the DMR? Isn't that against the rules?
As explained in the "Husky Classic" thread, WA entered 3 DMRs. One of the other two was able to stay with the #1 team until the anchor leg. That anchor paced Green for a bit until dropping out.
This has been a recent regular occurrence @ U-Dub meets, probably elsewhere as well.
No fans at either. No one cares. Like the Eugene Class E meetings at Hayward Fields.
Demsey is the UW's indoor football practice venue, with a 307m track as an afterthought. The sixth lane straight way is so close to the outer wall and protruding electrical outlets it can't be used for hurdle races. It is not set up for track spectators and no large video screen to watch, as nearly all the action is blocked from view from the infield. On the other hand, excellent up close viewing of the throw and jump events. Come to run, but don't expect to "see" the meet. The Pacific Northwest is lucky that the UW football program allows the three or four indoor meets at all, even when it is not needed by the Football Program.
