Looks like Abdi Bile is now an American citizen and his sons are very good runners as well. Sadly his career was blighted by injuries otherwise I firmly believed he would have been an Olympic champion.
Phenomenal PB's of 1:43.60, 3:30.55, 3:49.40. In the 1980's! Teleported to the present era with super shoes and everything else I firmly believe he would have been at the top of the world.
World Champion, 1500, Rome, 1987. Bronze, Stuttgart, 1993.
Watch him on YouTube - his running action was so easy and deceptive. He would start at the back of the field and just move up easily with that deceptive stride.
