Yes. I believe that NAZ created authenticity to a brand that was striving to be more than just a big clumpy training shoe. Kellyn was one of the folks that made that happen and deserves to go out on her own terms. She finished top 10 in NY this year so is still relevant.
listened to Kellyn on the "I'll Have Another" podcast recently, she said Hoka basically ghosted her after they dropped her and the only time they ever reached out was when they threatened to sue her for talking about how disrespectful of a company they were. ouch.
Business relationship ended, what did she expect? A Christmas card?

Nobody deserves anything. It may be a nice gesture to let an athlete go on their own terms, but deserve? Nah.
It is a business relationship. You run and win, we pay and support your hobby.

It's like some of these people have never experienced real employment their entire adult lives.

Is Taylor still smarting about getting cut from Hoka/NAZ? She witnessed many rounds of cuts during her time with NAZ and should understand the professional running game.

She must think she's truly special, for some reason.
Once you are dropped from a shoe company it's ridiculous to expect a happy birthday card and check-in phone calls. Note her recent results from the USATF Half in Atlanta. Says it all.

For real. I listened to this podcast, too, and she did herself no favors. When I leave a job, except for maybe coworkers I hung out with outside of work, regardless of the reason I am done with that company and those people. It is not personal, it is just better to look forward. Plus she makes the point to bash Hoka shoes. Did she not learn the lesson of Noah Droddy? Like them or not, but if you cannot say something nice then be quiet or you will poison your own well. And a lot of her comments reveal that she just has poor self-awareness about her career trajectory. She has been an also-ran at 3 consecutive Olympic Trials, sure she can keep going at a good level for another four years yet it would be delusional to think she will make a huge breakthrough in the next few years to get on the team for LA ahead of a bunch of younger, faster runners at age 41. Good for her for being a mom/foster parent yet when she reveals that she was 30 minutes late for a workout with Steph Bruce due to kid stuff that speaks volumes to where her head is at. Be good at being a parent, that is more important, but clearly you are not setting yourself up to reach even higher as an athlete or teammate.
NAZ Elite is one of the few pro running teams that gives their athletes health insurance. they talked about it on CoffeeClub podcast. most running groups insurance just covers running related injuries, but NAZ Elite is full on coverage, including family. that's gotta make the price tag for maintaining athletes high and really cutthroat, especially older ones.
A common private health insurance is about $500 per month or $6k per year. Someone has a contract for $64k and health insurance and another person has a contract for $70k and no health insurance it's a wash. There's no such thing as a free lunch, paying for the health insurance instead of a higher contract amount is just moving around the expenses.
