We changed the title of the thread to make it more factual and descriptive. It was initially entitled, "I guess Brosnan did actually do it," but the release says the former coach (Brosnan) is still disputing the allegations.
I hope his books sells well because Brosnan will never coach again--too proud to go back to HS and no chance at college or pro level.
You are joking right? Jim Harbaugh committed major NCAA violations at Michigan - he currently has a 4 year show-cause penalty - and he just got hired to coach the San Diego Chargers to the tune of $80 million dollars over 5 years. If you can coach, and the administrators want to win, they will over look things like this (if true) all the time in major sports.
If I was adidas, I'd think seriously about hiring him to be their Flagstaff based coach and he can reunite with Nico.
Rojo, I agree with everything you just said, but here is the issue. Sean Brosnan was not guilty of any wrong doing. This was UCLA just paying a small fine and moving on without hassle. No details have come out with the case and that just means we don’t know what’s true or not true. And as of now there are no violations against Brosnan. He’s free to coach in the NCAA.
And when the heck is Adidas going to step up and get a real group with Brosnan. Someone post in July that Brosnan was on full adidas head to toe at the Olympic Trials. Can this be something coming ? I would love to see this.

This is wrong on every level. Why aren't you begging Nike and Ben Thomas to hire Cole Hocker's coach?
If Nico wanted anything to do with Brosnan, then Brosnan would have been hired at NAU long ago.
Harbaugh has decades of success in the NFL and NCAA. Brosnan coaches a pretty good high school team.
There are hundreds of coaches more qualified than Brosnan to work with pro athletes. And all have them have better ethics than Brosnan.

How do you know he was not guilty of any wrong doing? Do you know the specifics of the accusations? Have you seen all the evidence? Are you just taking his word for it (I'd be cautious based on his history)?
There are so many more qualified and experienced coaches out there in the college ranks who would be in line for a pro job, that don't have the baggage of Brosnan. Now that Nico has been coached by Smith and has had the success he's had, why would anyone think it's realistic he would go back to Brosnan and leave Smith?

How do you know he’s guilty ? You don’t! You’re just making up stories .
The point is that UCLA AD made a choice to care less about Track and not move forward and take a $5000 fine and probation instead of going through with a long process. That’s why the NCAA creates a long process. It causes reactions like UCLA to just bail and move on. Brosnan is one of the best coaches in the country and that’s just fact. No one says you must like him yourself. And Nico Young runs for Adidas and Mike Smith will be a Nike paid coach in a year. This won’t be ideal for anyone at Adidas or Nike. But that’s not for us to decide in the long run. You can ask why and I’ll ask why now. Remember Grant Fisher went back to his HS coach after setting US records and it couldn’t have worked out any better for him. You don’t the future of these coaches and athletes.

Making up stories? The NCAA thinks he did something wrong. UCLA agrees he did something wrong. Brosnan is digging his heals in, but if the NCAA vs Brosnan hearing conclude concludes he did something wrong, will you then accept it?
What evidence do you have that makes it a fact that Brosnan is one of the best coaches in the country? It can be your opinion, but based on accomplishments, he isn't anywhere near the top of the list in coaches.

Because there is no details to back anything up. The NCAA just wants violations and UCLA just took the easy way out. What do you know about the case? You know nothing and obviously don’t coach in the NCAA! Because if you coached in the NCAA you should know that Brosnan got a hearing approved. Thats a win and means the NCAA is screwed. Those are rarely ever approved as they are decided from an outside committee. Those are facts. The opposite of what you’re saying. What usually happens before a hearing is the NCAA will bail and Brosnan wins or Brosnan embarrasses the NCAA in front of a non bias outside committee. UCLA messed up and settled the case for no reason. I’m a retired NCAA coach and have seen this hundreds of times.

Wow, you are committed to backing Brosnan aren't you? So, as pointed out earlier in the thread, Harbaugh had a separate hearing, was found guilty and received his penalties. If there are no details, why are you so determined to insist he's innocent of any wrong doing? It's just weird.
You have seen this hundreds of times? Really, hundreds of times? How about name one other?
So, again, if the result of Brosnan's hearing is that he is penalized, will you then acknowledge he did something wrong, or will you then so it was a bogus hearing or some other BS?
When all this came out initially, Brosnan said he was cleared of any wrong doing after the investigation. All his fans said the accusations were BS, but It turns out that wasn't true. Now that UCLA is penalized, it's just an easy way out for UCLA, but Brosnan didn't actually do anything. Once his hearing is concluded, what's the next explanation?

You’re a committed Brosnan hater and most likely a really bad coach. When did Brosnan say he was cleared ? All I can find is him saying he did not commit any violations. And as of now there are no violations on Brosnan. Just a hearing with the NCAA and as a current NCAA coach I do know that’s bad for the NCAA and good for Brosnan. My guess is we see a public lawsuit from Brosnan against the NCAA if the NCAA decides to move forward. This is only for Brosnan to get all the info public against the NCAA. Otherwise the NCAA has a bylaw preventing Brosnan for speaking about the case. If a lawsuit is filed he / Brosnan is free to talk about the case to anyone. And more importantly he can get the full story out there to the public. I know this because it happened to me and after I filed the lawsuit against the NCAA they dropped out and we never had a hearing. The good news I got a little money to pay my lawyer fees and I still coach today. I’m not a big coaching name like Brosnan so no one noticed my case ever existed.

Amen.
I was about text my coaching friends to give examples of situations just like yours. The NCAA plays games with people. The great thing about Brosnan he is relentless and will fight for what’s right. This attribute makes him a killer coach as he’s all in. I fu@king love it
"Brosnan said the NCAA investigated the claims and he cooperated with the investigation and even turned over his phone. “Nothing was found. I’m 100% confident in that … There were no violations,” said Brosnan."
Brosnan, who coached the greatest boys HS disatnce team in history at Newbury Park, has confirmed to LetsRun.com that he won't be returning for a 2nd year at UCLA. "I'm disappointed. I'm bummed. I'm upset. I don't want to pre...
