Cole is by far the most popular distance athlete for every one younger than him. There are tons of high school kids who run distance and a lot of college kids. So no, he won't be the face of Nike TV ads, but he can move a lot of shoes
Yall don't think money is part of God equation. The Bible says tithe 10% of what you make first back to his kingdom. Jesus was born rich but people treated him like scum of the earth. And he chose to live a non luxurious life. When he was born the Bible said the 3 Wiseman brought him gifts of riches. Just don't let money be the all consuming factor. Be Bless and Prosperous.
Money obsessed and thinks god chose him to win the race.
It's comedy gold that anyone actually defends him from the doping allegations.
I like the fact that you bag on MAGAs, but you are an openly jealous, average never-was who hates on top Americans. Accept your third-tier athletic status and move on.
That’s just not true. You have no idea how much high school XC kids look/looked up to Cooper Teare and Cole Hocker. Those old NewGen vidoes made them very popular with the high school kids
Haha. Not wise to post something cryptic like that and his manager should manage him. That said, I think he just means "everything is different now."
"Everything is different now" - That would have been the easier thing to say. What he is saying is "get ready to open the check book Paul (Moser) and don't even bother double checking that with John" (Capriotti - who still really makes all the decisions there).
But I agree with you it's unwise - I wouldn't be playing hardball with Nike on $ - you're going to get a lot - just rub their noses in it because the moment things don't go your way (and this doesn't last forever) they will f--k you in a heartbeat if you have that type of attitude.
And either way, it does seem a bit odd that a guy who allowed "God to carry him to the finish line" - I thought people like that weren't motivated by $? :D
First off, we need to know the full context of what he said. This could've been part of a conversation with a lot more content we're not seeing. Nonetheless, Nike needs to step up BIG TIME, and I think they will. They just chucked $20M over 5 years for a silver medalist sprinter whose "Risk" factor is off the charts. Nike has zero reason not to pay Cole a nice chunk of cash through L.A. 2028. If they try to go cheap on him, he'll get snatched up by another company quick.
I can tell you that the New Balance stores here in Paris are making out very well with Sydney and Femke posters on the streets. I see lots of NB shoes walking out those doors. Now I compare London 2012 NIKE stores to here today in Paris. London 100x better. Not much variety or selection in Paris among the stores. Just NOW setting up display at Centre du Pompidu-with 3 days left?? What kind of marketing is that. NIKE is losing their status.
Yes, little doubt. His agent has some work to do and both should profit nicely. If he has a contract with Nike that ends in December then they are going to have to pay to keep him. And they should.
It’s unfortunate but a bad mixture of unnatural charisma (if any), bad/unphotogenic appearance, and overly religions nonsense make Hocker unpalatable generally. His looks make him popular among incels, But I don’t know if he knows this. He’s not on the same level as Sydney or even shacarri. Hell, Yared is higher on the advertising scale than he is. Gold medalist just doesn’t really cut jt like it used to.
