The network and other corps were deeply invested in Phelps winning all 8 of his races to surpass Spitz. Huge hype campaign. Could not have the pursuit of the recorded ended midway.
I am not the only one that saw him lose that race.

If you can't CLEARLY see that Lyle's torso (chest) is crossing the RED LINE, whereas Thompson's chin is crossing the RED LINE, you're freakin' blind. The torso is the deciding factor, not the chin/neck.
Again, know your SH^T before making talking out of your A$$.
I saw the race 10 times. Thompson TORSO was in the same position than Lyles torso. See the corruption of VAR in football. I don't trust the drawing lines of the replay
