SCR is quite happy, as all athletes are, to profit from the sport and rightly so. She works incredibly hard and should get rewarded - frankly more than she, and any other T&F athlete, does.
However, as with all jobs, there are bits that you don't like doing but have to do. She should have shown up at the press conference. I get that she's disappointed, I get that she'll be asked questions she probably doesn't want to answer (she got chippy when the BBC reporter asked her a question that alluded to her journey since the Tokyo Olympics) but that is part of her job. Will we as fans learn anything from these interviews? In my opinion, no. I find most of these interviews vapid and superficial. But it's part of her job. Adults do their job. Children find excuses to only do the things they like doing. Her not rocking up to the press conference looks petulant.
On the flip side, in her defence, she was gracious and generous in defeat to Alfred. Credit to her.
