Specifically in my field of engineering, theres a big push to hire women. theres a reason most engineers are men, and we don't need to give people jobs because they are more "marginalized"

the idea howard (an HBCU) could be DEI. a black student gets no special treatment to go to howard. almost everyone is black there. duh.
howard is a good school so it's hardly DEI to get in a solid UC law school from there.
she had to get voted into office to be the DA or AG or in the senate. not sure how that's DEI. willie brown didn't cast a million votes. bill clinton couldn't sleep his way to the presidency. at some point we had a vote on it, which is by definition not DEI.
no, apparently what we're saying here is if you lose the primary and serve as the 2nd most powerful political leader in the country then no amount of that service plus DA/AG/senate is enough to qualify you for president.
I met someone recently at work that said he had no idea that Howard was an HBCU at first because the first 4 or 5 Howard alums he met where white ... kind of wild but I wouldn't think he's lying.

Only a few people actually would hate on someone for being "diverse" or hate on someone for being "inclusive." equity is the problem.. this implies that a job is giving to someone not based on value they bring to the job but the value they don't bring to the job. It's handing people things they are not qualified for over people who are qualified for it...
If you want to make a difference in diversity and inclusion fix elementary, middle and high schools in low income areas. Like spend all your money on that please.. much higher ROI and quicker to get to actual equality (what people really need) and get away from the equity BS of today

Because a whole bunch of non-DEI people and/or people with an agenda have suggested that DEI candidates are "less than" other candidates. Because we know that, of course, qualified candidates can't possibly come from the pool of DEI candidates. There can't possibly be overlap there, right?

When I joined the IRS in 2010, they openly were looking for white males to fill jobs. No mention of sexual orientation though. The agency at the time was 60 percent female, and I guess that was a “problem.”
