Lafayette is too small of a school/name/location to truly recruit okay talent for their track/XC team, they basically have to rely on coaching up their runners to be quality. Having a bad coach is a death sentence.
My friend in his freshman year there was doing strides on the football field and the track coach came up to him and asked him to join the team (he did). Kinda funny tbh
Colgate.
Looks like my prediction was right last time. Here’s my prediction for Patriot League’s:
1. Navy
2. Army
3. Bucknell
4. BU
5. Colgate
6. American
7. Lehigh
8. Holy Cross
9. Lafayette
10. Loyola
in due time we shall see
Someone please help me settle an argument fellow patriot league fans. Who is the greatest patriot league runner of all time? It’s got to be Marshall Beatty?
There are a bunch of names to consider -- in recent memory I think Brophy, Beatty, Luevano, Stalnaker are all in there. Going back further I think Appenheimer, Hanko, Garcia-Garrison, Browne, Mueller, and Johnson all have a decent claim too. Might've missed a few names
Nevermind apparently Lafayette’s best kid is out in a boot
Holy crap Army got bent over by Navy. They put 3 freshmen in front of Army’s experienced 2 and 3. Looks like Mike Smith has another 4 years of Ls around the corner.
This makes 16 straight loses for Army Men's XC and T&F against Navy.
#1 in the box office last time Army beat Navy
XC: Venom (the first one) - Fall 2018
Indoor T&F: Aquaman - Winter 2019
Outdoor T&F: Rango (the Johnny Depp vehicle about a talking cartoon gecko) - Spring 2011
Hark! Have you forgotten his juggernaut of a women's program??
And by juggernaut I mean, tis the only thing assuring him employment through the next 12 months
Navy destroyed Army at the star meet. Smith should be a little worried. Army on a bad day could be beat by Bucknell and American. BU is also just not good this year. Their low sticks have basically been missing all year and they don't have the depth to make it up. Colgate ran really well this weekend but they are unlikely to get better than 5th or 6th. American seems to have a good meet every other time they run so we'll see how they pull it together. Lehigh has their low stick running well but they are unlikely to beat Bucknell or American.
I got to predict Navy easily wins and it's a tossup on the day between Army, Bucknell, American, and BU for 2-5. Followed by Colgate and Lehigh then HC, Lafayette, and Loyola
umass Dartmouth is a full 8k the past few years, was also pissing rain and muddy

What a waste for great runners to go to a military academy--as soon as they graduate there talent is swallowed up by the military
