Bill White, Houston's mayor from 2004 to 2010, specifically ran on a promise to synchronize traffic lights. The city spent a few million installing new traffic signals to improve synchronization. While it helped move rush hour a bit better than before when lights were almost changing randomly, the volume of traffic quickly defeated any benefit from improved synchronization.

It is mainly for emissions reduction but your engine wears out twice as fast. Plus really taxes your air conditioner starting and stopping like that. There is a button you can select that keeps your car running.
That button is the first thing I press after I start my car.
I also find myself driving a short distance out of my way to shop in the neighboring municipality that has not adopted a plastic bag ban.
I’ve wondered this too actually. A car actually gives out more Co2 emissions when it’s starts up than when sitting idle. Doesn’t this have the opposite outcome of what they’re trying to accomplish?

That's not what I said AT ALL. All I was trying to convey is that e-bikes are very efficient if you want to try to emit less carbon when transporting yourself from place to place. That doesn't mean you should stop exercising/existing/using a regular bike.

Eh, LED lights are pretty efficient, it doesn't make a huge difference. a 10 W (Average LED wattage) bulb uses .0003 kwh of electricity over 2 minutes. Your fridge is orders of magnitude higher than that at .03 kwh.

And you gave absolutely no evidence or reasoning to back up that silly claim, other than inviting me to risk wasting 11 minutes of my time watching a video.
If you were so sure, you could easily summarize its argument in writing. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. It's an extraordinary claim because of these indisputable facts:
1) a bicycle itself consumes no fuel and emits no carbon 2) a human emits carbon dioxide only from consumed organic matter 3) an electric bicycle is responsible for CO2 emissions.
So the claim depends on proving that
1) riding a bicycle makes a human emit more Co2, meaning they eat more, and 2) that organic carbon would not otherwise have been emitted as Co2.
Item 2 there is one of the most cynical lies advanced by veganists. CO2 is a natural byproduct of the decay of ALL ORGANIC MATTER. These people picking on cows, for example, somehow don't understand what happens to grass that isn't eaten by a cow. Guess what: same damn thing.
