That's not true. Sydney has broken 49 seconds in the 400. Femke hasn't.

When track athlete ONLY worry about competing we complain that they are not doing enough to help make track popular. When they go on non sports media to promote themselves we complain that they are too distracted from track.

I think you are missing the point. The OP didnt say they are not doing indoors. Overall they compete very infrequently, outdoor and indoor. I agree, I forget about them at times. They don't do meets.

One of the may reasons track will be track as far garnering a following. Michaela Shiffrin skis every week unless bedridden. Jessi Diggins skis almost every week in a grueling sport.

Ive seen Nikki Hiltz, Laura Muir, Monson, Hopple...5 times more than the above.

I regularly see Kersee coaching in LA and haven't see Mu once. Rarely see Sydney and when I do, she's just sat around. Kenny Harrison and others have been working

The OP's point was that they don't compete much, NOT that they were actually going to retire from the sport. The OP wrote "no one cares anymore if they compete."

You completely made up the retirement thing in your own small brain, and somehow equated that with not running a PR. Now that I've educated you, you can run along and go post stupid things in another thread.

Sydney has competed in the same number of races this outdoor season as Femke.

Keely has only run one more race this outdoor season than Athing.

Femke Bol has run 14 races in 2024. Many of those races were indoors, but they still were races. Sydney has only run 4 races in 2024.

Keely Hodgkinson has only run 1 race so far in 2024 compared to none for Athing Mu. But Hodgkinson ran 19 races in 2023, compared to only 7 for Athing Mu in 2023.

No matter how someone tries to spin it, the fact is that Sydney and Athing don't race very much.

I very clearly was referring to the current outdoor season only in my post. Your criticisms are out of date.
