You are currently a condescending a**hole with a g*d complex, and the women you're dating are tired of it. YOU are acting like YOU are too good for THEM, so they're saying "you're too good for me." They are trying to let you down gently and avoid picking a fight because you are at intensity level 11 and apparently don't think they should be allowed to leave the relationship unless you hit them first.

I haven’t read the whole thread but based off of the responses on the first page many are getting this totally wrong.

It depends on the exact context but “You’re too good for me” is likely somewhat of a real feeling from them and they want to hear you explain why you’re with them and why you want to continue to be with them. Basically, they want to hear that they are “worth it”.

There is probably a mismatch in, say, career aspirations or how “put together” your life is compared to theirs. These Wammin might want you to say “that doesn’t matter, I love you/want to be with you”. Again, this depends on the context but I think that it is somewhat of a “test” to see how much you value your relationship. Do you value it more than external signals of status? Do you value it more than looks? If you see this as them trying to break things off then you are answering their question as to whether or not you really want to be with them.

Could just be an excuse to break away that's meant to be indirect or nice instead of direct and potentially mean since women are focused on feelings a lot.

It could mean she does think you're better and she is too nice to drag you along with her as she thinks you can do way better. If it's this, her problem could easily be low self esteem if she's off base, or just reality if it's accurate.

I should note that many women are a bit uncomfortable at least if they perceive the man to be superior because that puts extra pressure on herself to perform up to your high standards. That's also why some women settle for lower value men--because they don't want the stress and pressure of meeting his high expectations if he's high value.

I have identified your problem. It's called narcissistic personality disorder. Unfortunately, you will never be able to recognize your own issues so it's pointless to come here to ask for help. You will keep looking for answers that affirm your own beliefs and never change. Your view on things will make life very difficult for you, but unfortunately far more difficult for people that you have personal relationships with.

You sound a lot like my wife's ex husband. Entitled. Verbally and even physically abusive, but he never could realize that he was the one that needed to change. Whenever he did something wrong, it was because someone or something caused him to do that. She eventually had to leave the house with her infant daughter while he was asleep because she feared for her life.

Your responses make your approach pretty clear. The best thing for you to do is to take a long hard look in the mirror at yourself and self correct. But I think you're incapable of that. Either way, good luck.

These women are just concerned for you due to your dangerous profession. Being in charge of a train is a huge responsibility and not without many risks. These women just don't have what it takes to live life on the rails. Looks like it's loneliness with an occasional Good-n-Plenty groupie for you.

I’ve said this to guys that were trying too hard and I had lost interest. They could sense I was pulling away and then they tried even harder. I guess that’s called hysterical bonding. sometimes I would say it early on to try and let someone down easy. For example if we met for a first date and I didn’t want a second but he would write long texts or update me with his life stories. I would say oh you’re too good for me and wish him well.

Or perhaps it' "bad boys, bad boys, what cha gonna do." She likes bad boys and you aint' bad enough. You are better off without idiots like her.

Lately I found that women love me because of my money. So, they hit me hard at first for months. Then when they find a better offer they quickly accuse ME as being the one driving the MUSTANG too fast!
