He's not a grad student, he is a GRADUATE. He graduated in December and is no longer at Carolina.

If you really think you are describing UNC, you have not traveled far off of frat court... Chapel Hill is a great town with a great deal of unconventional folks. I would say 2% of the people at UNC are as you described...

On another note, are y'all really arguing that these athletes should not be having a party in college? Are you kidding? Do you really think that scholarship athletes do not party?
wow im glad that all of north carolina can rank on a girl that has worked so hard and made a simple, commonplace mistake. she was unlucky enough to get caught being a KID, but unfortuantly we live in such a litigious society this whole thing will probably be blown out of proportion. i'm sure that, including me, anyone sitting on their asses posting these blogs has no where close to the sense of discipline or commitment Ms. Felnagle has. She was a college-student making a mistake. This relates more importantly back to the pressures that our young athletes face. and as for her outfit in high school, that was for Senior Ball, where the theme was "in your wildest dreams." so here's a piece of advice for all you god damn spiteful bloggers: get a life and get off brie's...ur just in it becuase of jealousy and bordeom.

In college, there is many things a person can do to have fun, her's is and most likely is not limited to drinking.
let the girls be, I've run XC races still drunk at 9 am. As far as I'm concerned kudos to her for trying to get away lol. I know alot of people who would just sit there.

I think its healthy to relax and party once and while. You definitely need to just let loose and not be so completely focused on running constantly
just let runners do what they want. maybe it isnt a good idea to drink as a serious runner, but its not some letsrun posting dork's job to get all high and mighty and tell people that they are doing things wrong. Just go train and race hard...thats what felnagle obviously does.

Have you ever spent a weekend with the App State runners? I'm pretty sure they're notorious for drinking quite a bit.
Why does a team like App State have better runners than UNC? Coaching my friend, coaching. Not beer.
Does any one ever think about starting something with a cop during a run just so you can pick up the pace?

Gooofy stuff happens to "runners" when they've been drinking. I had an old roommate/teammate of mine from IUP who was a multi-time D2 Cross All American. Cops showed up at a bar once to arrest him for public drunkenness. He got by them, out the door, ran about 1/4 of a mile down the street with some fat cop trying to chase him on foot (only to fall way behind and give up). My roommate -- for no reason known to mankind -- stopped running. Turned around and walked back to the cops and said, "alright, you got me."
The dude had totally blown these coppers away and they had given up.
Again, goofy stuff happens when drinking...a runner's speed advantage gets mitigated with intoxication.
