As long as you have a functional peepee, you can run shirtless; once you no longer have a functional peepee, you can even run underwearless coz there’s nothing worth watching, so what’s to hide?
In April i moved into a new house and I have lots of neighbors. Before I lived on a cul-de-sac and could easily get to the trials without being noticed. When I did actually go for a run this summer, this idea popped up into my head pretty much right away. I thought about running a few blocks and then taking it off so my new neighbors ddn't judge me.
Then a few weeks later I was sitting on my back patio and my next door neighbor rolls up the alley drenched in sweat - shirt off. Guys my age and just finished an 11 miler shirtless on a HOT day. I've got the perfect place to live if only I'd start running.
If you are cold when you start, keep the shirt on and ditch it as you warm up (assuming an out and back route). If it is too hot outside, take off your shirt...neighbors can go suck an egg. What is stopping you from jogging 30-40min daily?
When you ask someone “what is stopping you from jogging 30-40 min daily?” there is an implicit judgment that this is almost obligatory for those who are capable. Just saying…

i'm 44 and still run shirtless. i really dont understand why some people dont. my perception is you dont wear a shirt at the pool so why would you when running in the summertime?
most people dont care and anyone that does really needs some self-reflection.
everyone should be able to live their lives as they see fit so long as they are kind to all and cause harm to none.
If there is one thing you must remember, this is it: No matter what the weather is, no matter how buff you are, no matter how bad you want to work on your tan, you can never, and I mean NEVER, run shirtless the morning after eating spicy hotwings at Quaker Steak & Lube.

I think it depends on where you're training rather than your age really. On a quiet, secluded trail that's used by runners and hikers, direct from door to door - OK. In the middle of a city centre, going through dodgy busy areas and going to get a take-out coffee afterwards - not so much.
I barely ever see it where I live (UK) but the temperatures barely get hot enough to justify it really. It's a different case in various parts of the USA. I'd be concerned about burning though. Is a very thin, white, dri-fit T shirt or singlet (or even a mesh-type fabric) really a lot hotter than running shirtless?
I do wonder about all the manboobs out there and whether a jog bra might help some of you. I think women should be permitted to jog topless if they want to.
There are tops for men that are cut offs... mainly for triathletes.

Temperature and humidity not age is what matters. At 68 I'll still go shirtless on a long run or a non-marathon race if it's hot. Much better cooling than a wet shirt or singlet. It may not be pretty but no one has complained!
Age itself has nothing to do with running shirtless. When I lived in socal I ran shirtless all the time. Now in the PNW only on the warmest days do I go out in search of the elusive tan. Next year I'll be doing it way more on my own rural acreage trails at age 72.

Just turned 40 and have no intention of putting a shirt on in a jersey summer morning that is north of 95% humidity June - September. I don't think there is an age as long as you are comfortably in shape.
I do wonder about all the manboobs out there and whether a jog bra might help some of you. I think women should be permitted to jog topless if they want to.
