SMH.....they have open enrollment in Chicago and have had for decades. Chicago is a diverse city. The comment was because some idiot said you couldn't get an education in Chicago. You will get one of the best educations in the nation and definetly in the state of Illinois.

What about the thousands of 100% white schools across the state that are below these public schools in Chicago?

Chicago has a few good ones, but it also has the worst ones in Illinois (barring East St Louis - if you google it, it's exactly what you expect).

Some public schools may ban participation.

A few years ago publicly funded teams - kids and NY state public college -from NY weren't allowed to go to meets in NC because NY disagreed with the anti lgbt bathroom laws that were in effect in NC.

If I lived in Englewood or anywhere in Chicago and were in high school, I could have gone to anyone of the top public high schools in the state, which the top 5 in Chicago are all better than any school in Naperville.

Chicago has more than a few good ones...they have several great ones that are ranked among the top public schools in America.

I pretty sure that the NAACP didn't issue a travel BAN. They issued a travel advisory, which they have done before.

This isn't new for the NAACP. They have issued warnings before when racist ass governors and repubs pass BS racist laws and policies.
Black people have been warning each other for centuries about overt BS is certain locations. We warned each other about sundown towns and counties if you knew people were traveling there.

That is the white SAT score with white Americans and first generation white Americans combined. If you look at the SAT scores for first generation white Americans it’s around 1200.

Clearly you've never been to Chicago- there is literally one area (the South Side) that is dangerous. The universities that would host this event are in a safe part of the city.

You are correct to a point. Many cities in Illinois and major cities in the Midwest are much more dangerous than Chicago ever has been. Milwaukee, Cleveland, Indianapolis, South Bend, Rockford, St. Louis, Detroit and Kansas City all have higher homicide rates.

Also you can't say the South Side area isn't safe. Roughly 800K people live on the South Side. There are plenty of safe neighborhoods (Hyde Park, Beverly, Pill Hill, Morgan Park, Bronzeville) on the South Side.

Yes, a handful of neighborhoods located on the south side have much much higher rates of violent crime.
