As an American, I think it's beyond appalling that anyone liked that post. Saying we should "demand" that Nick gets locked up is just plain un-American. Real Americans believe that even scum like Nick shouldn't get locked up without due process, a fair trial, a jury of his peers, and all that.

I get that in cases like this, it's easy to think that the rule of law -- the idea that people should only be locked up after they are convicted at a fair trial -- is nonsense that perverts justice.

I can't agree. Standing for the rule of law in cases like this is what makes America America.

Not to mention the athletes who filed the lawsuit wanted to give back the medals they won in the NAIA championship because they felt they had an unfair chemical advantage.

If the plaintiffs/athletes felt so strongly that they had
been doped against their will and that their HU results should have been nullified
why did one of the athletes move on to immediately compete at another school? If she truly believed that she had been doped
how could she justify racing for IU?

Everyone believing her doping allegations against the Johnsons should also be calling
for all of her results to be stricken at IU and for IU to forfeit all meets
that she participated in as by her own admission all of those marks would have
been tainted by doping.

Right here is the error being made, what's been filed are allegations not facts. When it's convenient we often choose to convict before both sides of a story are told and a verdict is reached.

We do the same thing with age. 16 age of consent, drivers license, 18 voting/military, 21 drinking, 26 rent-a-car, 30 we still try to keep kids on our medical plan, so they can finish phd. Somewhere on that scale a 19yr old college freshman from a small town is still pretty youthful to me.

Dusting NAIA randoms and washed up/pre season pros is one thing. Taking on top 5 NCAA talent in full season stride is another.

Yep. That is why I suggested the thread be shut down. It is obvious that a handful of people are trying to actively manipulate the thread, maybe one or two with an ip router. It is not worth the energy.

The sad thing is that people still defend this program. She still got beat this past weekend and only has one meet left to qualify for all her other events so her coach can have a phone op with a trophy.

Running wise she is now steady at the 4:30 mile level with Touhy steady at 4:24. I think at usatf they will be in separate events kt 5000 and aw 1500. Who knows on NAIA?, I guess they still have a conference meet? Maybe they plan a 'less crazy' schedule at NAIA.

The field at usatf will be stronger than indoor, but she would be a top 10 candidate, if she prs. (current 4:11 4:26) Assuming she does not qualify, she'd really benefit from a bunch of summer pro races, even in Europe.

If she was that talented she would be running for a real team not a no name NAIA school with a head coach no one has heard of prior to this year.

But she is running for a no name NAIA school while beating top NCAA runners. She would be top 20 in the NCAA. Maybe you should take a look at TFRRS. It seems like you are unfamiliar with the sport.

She had an offer from Colorado and planned to attend there as a freshman this year for 22-23 school year. Her coach Lauren Johnson was involved in that decision.

After summer prs of 4:11 4:26, us u20 1500m champ, world u20 5th she changed her mind following the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it's and more comfortable at home logic.

Didn't she just get beat by an NCAA runner this weekend? She would never make it at the NCAA in 5 events. NAIA is like running against middle school kids.
