The only thing that does not ring true to me is that he is basically saying that he won PTO US without the use of EPO, yet he felt he needed to use EPO to be at the top.
Had he said that he started to use EPO in early 2022 and it explains why his season was so much better in 2022 than 2021, then I would have fully believed.
it may be true that he won PTO US clean, but then I don’t understand his logic/reasoning. Other than perhaps he had to give up too much to do this clean and he did not want to make the required sacrifices anymore, but still wanted to compete
You and 60 other people can't read? He clearly states in his post that he was injured. When you're injured, you can't train. When you can't train, you lose fitness. PEDs are obviously a way to maintain or even improve fitness on a reduced training schedule.
I don't really give a sh*t if he's lying or not but you don't really need to go down the rabbit hole on this one.
Strange I follow triathlon (both long and short course) very closely and have literally never heard of this person.
Did short course until the pandemic. Made a huge jump (now we know why) last season. Won IM Mont Tremblant & then one of the biggest races of the year- PTO US Open. Trained with Lionel Sanders & was being coached by Mikal Iden.

I’m sure he was indeed injured.
However, he did Kona in October
he does not post many of his workouts on Strava, but we do see that:
November 8th, he does a XC ski race
By Nov 26, he is already doing a 3H bike ride
In between (on Nov 16) he “orders” EPO (I wonder when he received it)
BTW: he was on a training camp in Girona with Thorn, Mikal.., when he got caught. He was there from Jan 30 to Feb 28 and then came back to the US. Prior to that, he was in Ecuador the whole of January. He was in the US prior to that. How do you carry EPO in your luggage?
Not really an excuse, rather an explanation to his followers about his state of mind when he decided to dope. He's not asking for the punishment to be reduced; he's not claiming the test is wrong.
Within the context of positive drug tests, this is refreshing to see.
...I'm seein' through it like grandma's underpants.
Probably the biggest lie in all of this. Grandmas aren't wearing see-thru underpants.
This is just a lame attempt made by a cheater to try and keep the massive prize purses he "earned" last summer
I doubt that he has the $ to pay it back. Where would that $ come from?
Anyway, if you change the timeline and his story holds water
Nov 2021. I felt others were using PED. I had been training for many years and could never reach the top. I felt I needed PED to achieve that. I came 20th at world 70.3, that will not get me sponsorship
Jan 2022: Joins Mikal... He is going all in...
2022: Wins Mt Tremblant and wins PTO US
Apr 2023: I do not feel that my teammates or the Norwegians are doping. But I felt I needed to continue because I was having no "real" success before that, but it did wonders for me in 2022
I advocate the strictest punishment (from the sport) for dopers, but he does not merit the ridicule that inevitably comes with it. The guy made a mistake and owned up. He should stay banned, but I also admire him being forthright about it. Hope he finds peace.
Zane Robertson and Burrito-girl on the other hand deserve the contempt for their denial, obvious obfuscation and the sheer idiocy of their respective excuses.

He’s a grown man who intentionally and with forethought made the decision to defraud his federation and race organizers and sponsors and, more importantly, other athletes and probably his friends and family.
He absolutely merits ridicule and derision. Fraud is a special kind of offense, one that at its core has the intent to cause others to fail—in this case, to fail to win, despite their best efforts.
F him. He only “came clean” once caught, which is not coming clean at all.
There is absolutely nothing to admire about this guy, who continues to be a self-serving narcissist. Just STFU and get lost. You can believe NOTHING a doper says on its face, it always needs high-quality corroboration using various sources of high-quality evidence.
Fraud and swindle are acts that depend from the character traits of dishonesty, narcissism, and delusion. In short, this situation is more than “what he did”, it is “who he is”.
I don't disagree with you regarding the strictest form of punishment, i.e. banned from the sport for life. But, contrition is worth something in my book, enough to let it go.
Funny stuff and good point. No excuses, just rationalization and also virtue signaling as a cheater - WTF. The savage responses by other elite athletes makes one think that triathlon is a clean sport.
Please review the details of the Shelby Houlihan case to realize that the "lame burrito excuse" was not an attempt to lie or cover up. She said many times she has no idea now the trace amount of nandrolone (conferring no performance advantage at that microscopic blood level) got into her system, and her legal team decided to speculate about the burrito. They were compelled to prove innocence and hence mount the burrito defense. Her defense was torched by the doping agency, and upon reflection was a terrible legal strategy. Easy to ridicule for sure, but learning the details might bring you a different perspective.

LOL. Are you really using this doper's word about her burrito joke as evidence that she didn't cheat?
And what details do you know of? You are funny.
Last but not least - do you have any evidence that her nandrolone amount - determined to be over 2.5 times the allowed amount (God knows how many hours or days after taking it) - provided "no performance advantage"?

That’s nowhere near the strictest form of punishment; I have said on LR many times that it is totally inadequate, and I have explained why.
And contrition without restitution is only feigned, and worth absolutely nothing.
