That was his first year when defenses didn't know what was going on. He still got exposed in the playoffs.
He eats up bad teams and get embarrassed by great teams. The same thing that happens to all run first QBs in college.
As he gets older he's just going to get worse. If he can't create with his feet his stats will fall off the cliff.
👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
Don't know politics, football, track and field or much of anything else 🤔 🙄
He's in his prime and he's won... nothing so far. I stand by my comment.
He's probably not even a top 10 QB and Baltimore wins with defense. It's silly to make him the MVP particularly when the team would be much better with a different QB.
Peyton Manning didn't win Superbowl until he was 30-something years old. John Elway didn't win Superbowl until he was 30-something years old. Who are going to defeat Ravens in Superbowl, Detroit Lions?

The Browns, Steelers, and Colts all beat them this year. There's no reason to think they couldn't do it again. The Bills, Chiefs, and Dolphins could beat them as well.
Jackson has won one playoff game in his entire life and you think he's just going to walk into the Super Bowl?

Running QBs don't play in their 30s. The playbook on beating Jackson is making him throw the football. Once he can't run anymore his career is over.
This is his 5th season as the full time starter and if he makes it to week 17 this will be the first season he's played every game.
As he gets older and slower he's going to get hurt more and miss more games.
And Lamar is possibly going to win a 2nd NFL MVP now.
2nd MVP and still won't win more than 1 game in the playoffs.
If they hold onto the #1 seed winning 1 game would mean he loses in the AFC championship. Precisely zero teams are currently favorites to make the Super Bowl vs not make the Super Bowl. Hardly a failure.

I guess you are right. His current contract ends right after he turns 31.
Probably no one will sign him for the next year, since he will be slow then and no longer running. (He will be all time leading running QB by then).
Retiring at 31 with only $300 million in career earnings means he'll have to finish his sub elite Louisville education to still make ends meet.
No one would sign him this year. He held out and no one wanted him.
He's crazy talented but the Ravens still needed to redesign their offensive into a college style offense centered around a running QB.
He leads his team in rushing because he's the primary rusher. He's got 142 carries and averages 5.5 yards a carry.
Taysom friggin Hill averages 5.4 yards a carry even with everyone on the defense knowing he's going to run the ball when he's in the game. It's easy to run as a QB.
The problem is it doesn't work against great teams. There's a reason the book on Jackson is to contain him and force him to throw the ball. Being an actual QB is his weakness.

The Super Bowl favorites just “held” him to a 105.9 passer rating, 2 passing touchdowns, and 6.4 yards per carry. Maybe they should give you Shanahan’s job and you could make the 9ers “great”.
Lamar's throwing game is limited, but he's better than you think. He is easily a top 10 qb in the league, and he didn't even run very much last night.
There are a lot of throws he still can't make. He doesn't anticipate much. He basically doesn't throw until guys are already open. And yet he makes that work. He plays within his abilities better than anybody else, and his team works with those abilities really well. I do agree that really good defenses will have a solution to him in the postseason. It will be very difficult for him to ever win a super bowl. But he is really REALLY good.

I didn't say he was a failure I said he doesn't win playoff games.
He's won 1 playoff game ever (a game won by defense) and he's 1-3 with a QB rating of 68 in the playoffs.
Baltimore won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer. They need a game manager who doesn't make mistakes and they win. Joe Flacco was 10-5 in the playoffs and was the Super Bowl MVP.
Jackson's great in the regular season. He's yet to prove anything when it matters.

Congratulations on winning the regular season super bowl. It means literally nothing. The defense forced 4 turnovers 2 of which took points off the board and the other 2 created very short fields. Defense won that game not Jackson.
The 49ers also lost to the Bengals and the Browns as well. Maybe they are overrated?
