I wonder how fans of Willis, Rose, Whitaker and other 800 runners feel watching a runner involved in a doping scandal drop her high school pr by 5 seconds in less than a year and suddenly threatening their positions?

Track and Field News's absolute collegiate list would put Addy Wiley's 1:59.00 third all-time, second outdoor, and 2nd individual all-time.

That's incorrect.

The list you cited in your post is of performances that happened DURING the college season, meaning only up to and including the national championships.

Wiley's 1:59.00 obviously happened AFTER the college season.

If you look at another list that shows college athletes competing during the summer, you will find more performances that were 1:59 or faster.

Maybe the same way Parker Valby felt when she lost the NCAA 5000 and XC title in 2022.

Wiley is 2nd all-time. Unbelievable. Many NCAA fans are completely oblivious to what she has accomplished. The 2 Stanford women are washed up while Wiley is approaching world class.

Hate to break it to you but more than one person thinks this is absurd. By the facts Wiley was 17 years, eight months old, about the age of a typical senior, when she set that pr. If I was talking about freshman year you would have a much better point. But that was an upperclassman pr. Plus she was not a 400 specialist moving up.

What is going on with Wiley seems ridiculously obvious. But it is always obvious. The challenge is catching it.

I see. It was the competition. Her pr going into this year was over 2:04. Dropped it by over 5 seconds in less than a year. Nothing suspicious at all.

One more thing. If I recall it, she set that high school pr at Brooks or Arcadia coming in second to Ince. That sure seems like real competition. But I guess Willis, Whitaker and the rest will just have to live with it.

I made this point in a thread that was deleted earlier. Why do all of you Wiley fans always pull Tuohy into your threads? The thread is about AW. The fact that you do that shows that your knowledge of the sport is deficient. AW & KT are two totally different types of runners. 800 & 1500/mile, AW wins easily. 3000 and up and XC, KT wins easily.

it's def annoying, but im pretty sure the point is KT, who virtually nobody thinks is doping, improved her 3000 time by 19 seconds in one season

19 seconds in a 3000 is equivalent to...wait for it... 5 seconds in an 800

so KT's big jump is believable (and it is believable!) because she finally got into a race with optimal competition/conditions, but when AW does the same suddenly it's "obvious she's doping!"

so many posters here are overly emotional, lack basic math skills, don't understand what it's like to be naturally gifted, and have not been in/around the sport nearly long enough to realize hyper-talented individuals that crush their hs/college/regional competition are primed for a big jump once they race with the big dogs

The bolded section is all so typical of the doping dunces around here and elsewhere. They are perfectly willing to accept the sporadic doping bust and use it to loudly parade around and throw the blanket over everyone.

When they actually attempt to predict something, they don't fare so well. They come across as buffoons.
