agreed. It was good she chose the college route initially. It's better to run with people your age, and she loves her team and the atmosphere. But she'll be 21 in a month and at what point does it become bad for everyone that someone this dominant is in the NCAA?
its not bad, its good for college distance running because runners will have to improve their times if they want to beat katelyn tuohy and win a title, it raises the level of running at the collegiate level
katelyn has 2 years of eligibility left, that isnt so long at all.. it goes by quick
Huh? How many titles does she have in track? How many losses?
I am responding to the poster who said that it might be bad to have someone as dominant as Tuohy in the NCAA. My point is that she is not going to be competing for all those titles anyways ...

she only qualified just last year, in 2022
2 runner-up finishes indoor
national champion outdoors
in 2021, she was basically still recovering from her knee surgery and getting her fitness back, but was still running fast!! she got 4:12 PR in those months, but then she got minor injury during the fall season, got her training shut down for almost 2 months after the BU 3k U20 record and after that she has been phenomenal ever since!
The way I took her words in that clip was to mean that "this" (indoors) was the last of the three seasons (cross country, indoor, and outdoor) that she hadn't yet won an NCAA title ("gotten one"). I think she means she'll have a trifecta of titles across fall, winter, and spring if she can win a title at indoor NCAA nationals this year, not necessarily that she won't be competing in any more seasons after this year.
College distance running tears her body more than pro distance running. She should go pro as soon as possible.
As a college runner, she has to run two seasons straight with indoor and outdoor, then a short summer break, then back again to build up miles for the cross season, so much racing and running at the college level.
As a pro runner, she does not need to race much and she will have more recovery time.
This applies to most college runners, not KT. She can go pro whenever she wants, which means the onus is on the college to adapt to her training if they want to keep her. She can still train like a pro if she wants, modify the training paces, have a long base, run her races as workouts and what are they gonna tell her? You're off the team?

training like a pro while in college is a bit too much right? like shes not paid high enough to do that, gladly her coach doesnt do that?? or idk? no one knows what katelyn's workouts are, but it still seems not for pro running, they said she trains with the team and majority of it she has teammates on her workouts
4:24 is something top pro runners run, look at heather mclean run 4:23 and stafford run 4:23 then the rest of the top pros run slower than 4:24
