One of my (first) cousins is in a professional sports league, and you've likely heard his name mentioned for all star / pro bowl consideration. I wera it to support him

Do you support all your cousins in a similar manner, for example, if one works at Best Buy do you also wear a Best Buy shirt?
It makes me feel like I’m supporting the team, same as if I am wearing a nameless jersey or a band t shirt or a company branded shirt.
So why do you choose one with another man's name on the back instead of just a team shirt?
I have examples of both. That player may have had memorable events with that team or is a team leader and I don’t have your hangup about the athlete’s name being on the jersey somehow making the jersey unacceptable.

You never said which men's jersey's you have.
I just answered your first question in my last post and your 2nd one bears no relevance.
I won't wear a Jersey with any man's name on it. I went to a university named after a president and never wore the team jersey. Ran every race shirtless.
I grew up with many soccer jerseys for players in European leagues. Right now I only have one jersey with a name on it (Brazil national team/Neymar) but I will undoubtedly own more in the future (the rest of my current jerseys are not player specific). I tend to wear out my soccer jerseys
I had Charles Barkley’s jerseys from the Suns and Rockets and later Thierry Henry’s Arsenal jersey. Used to wear the Barkley jerseys when balling as a kid, and I wore the Henry jersey to a presentation I did in French class in college so yeah I guess I have as an adult. I also made myself a t-shirt with Beefcake 83 written on the back of it, which was the place I got my first season at NCAAs and later decided to beef up. If you don’t know the reference you need to check vintage South Park.
Most big teams will print up thousands of extra jerseys for their star players for the fans to buy, and that's wearing another man's jersey for sure, even if he didn't wear it first.
I have two of these. I wear one to sleep in and one during the day. On the back is says, "From Dwight." The only other shirt I need is a yellow button-up for formal occasions.
