No fr sam broke the record for just 0.05 seconds and ran a PR of 0.25 seconds 😅Idk what yall been talking about but no one really PR from nc state at that meet other than katelyn dropping 15 seconds from her 15:30 earlier this year at nattys. But i guess thats not a PR in LRC rules.

I just want to add, that indoor PB’s can differ from outdoor PB’s over the same distance, for various reasons, including the speed of the track, embankment, lack of wind, etc.
Valby had one bad performance 2 weeks ago but every Tuohy fan seized the opportunity to claim that Tuohy is better than her. Funny how you pick and choose the criteria.
How was it bad? She did not collapse, in fact her 2nd 3K was slightly faster than her 1st 3K. She is not a kicker, so it's not like she suddenly did not have her kick. If you look at the runners who finished 2-9 at SEC and compare their times for SEC and Nationals they averaged 58 seconds slower at nationals including some AL ladies who finished much higher at nationals than many would have thought and were only 30-40 seconds slower than at SEC. Valby was 65 seconds slower. It seems like Valby performed ok other than she got beat.
Actually the bolded part shows that Valby had an off day. Those Alabama runners who were all out at SEC trying to win that championship made up a lot of time on her at nationals.
Those who predicted Valby would struggle with the hills, cold, and lack of course knowledge were correct.
Data also shows only few to none of the young high school running phenoms that arrive at the NCAA actually win titles and run fast times. If you look at the data, Tuohy is already an outlier from all the young phenoms. You say " 90% of elite Americans were very good young runners but were not phenoms. Giving all of the data to a mathematician who knows nothing about running, they would not predict Tuohy's upside to be anything great." — nor did we predict Tuohy winning titles in the NCAA and running 4:06 and 15:14 at 20 because data shows she should have burned out.
Nothing against Tuohy, it seems that a sub 15 will not easily happen for her. Her form is getting worse, cannot kick at the end when running a faster pace. Looking at her past 5000m races, she has only ran 15:10s for three outings.
Funny you mentioned form as one reason. My daughter was watching a workout wednesday wolfpack track workout just a few days ago. It struck me how insanely similar her slightly off form is with one other person. Jacob Ingebrigtsen. Maybe Cheruiyot but not quite that severe. They have almost identical form (JI and KT)--slightly leaned forward, strong legs, similar arms. So while she may not be like every other runner, she is a lot like the last two greatest 1500/5000 runners of all time. So...better find another reason.

But then again there was Mercy - 84 seconds, Van Camp - 71 seconds, Bockrath - 85 seconds who went the other way all of whom were also likely trying to do real well at SEC. If you missed it, Tyynismaa and Asekol have been steadily improving as the season went on. Tyynismaa was 21 seconds back of Olemomoi at (5K) Joe Piane, then 13 at (6K) SEC and 2 at Nationals. Asekol went from 23 at Joe Piane to 8 at Nationals. Asekol was only 7th at SEC and got 14th at Nationals.
Look at her form in this race versus her form from this workout video. So different, she looks laboring now.
She said she had an off day after the race. If you think this is all shea capable of you're just looking for drama.
Yea again she doesnt look like emma coburn or her teammates in those two vids, but she looks not labored and a lot like JI to me. I just dont see any form issues at all.

They read your posts you know. I think Henes is capable of 14:40 even if you say that is a joke. Last week you said that only the top 3 NC State runners were elite. Like I said, they read these things. You cause a rift by putting Tuohy so far above the other runners on the team. You do know who the coach is right? Her name is Henes also. I am sure she likes you saying it is a oke that her daughter can run 14:40 or that only their top 3 are elite.
Dont know too much of the story or if it’s even real, but I will say I don’t think it was a good look for the Young’s to stay in the medical tent and not go on stage with their team after they won the Championship.
Aaron gracefully got 3rd almost every race this season, always came up on stage with the Young’s and seemed pretty supportive. Aaron is one of the best runners in the nation, and is constantly overshadowed by the Young’s, (it’s not their fault but he is) Imagine being the 3rd guy on your high school team with a mile PR that’s better then most colleges school records.
