still confused why shes not running the ncaa mile ... mile at nationals kinda boring ngl .. only few fast runners and no one wants to try to run a fast mile

The mile often turns out to be sit and kick in both prelims and finals which is not Tuohy's strength. The question for this year is will Tuohy do DMR/3000 of 5000/3000? She could dominate the DMR anchor leg. Do they have 400/800 to stay pretty close though? Stanford has the mid distance runners - but maybe they will be in open 800 and not DMR?

There were 12 Americans that beat her in June at the US championship 5k. Do you think a lot has changed in the past five months? She is a great NCAA runner but still needs to get faster to make a real impact as a professional runner. Same could be said about Nico and Hicks. Which is why Nico stayed in the NCAA and Nur went pro, since Nur was at the level to make the world team.
She stands at a 5,000m PR of 15:14, there are a lot of post college runners with that type of PR who are just hanging in there trying to make a living from it, and one dropped contract from hanging it up, some of them you've probably never heard of. Same can be said about the guys, that's like a 13:15-13:20 dude, it's really good but you've got to get faster to be relevant on the national level being a contender to make teams.

True, but I (and many others) think she is going to get a lot faster; too soon to tell yet. I think the absolute smartest move she made was going to college, to a place where she's happy and healthy and clearly enjoying herself and progressing steadily. This is setting her up very nicely to test the waters as a pro IMHO. At every turn when faced with a challenge and/or adversity she has risen to meet and beat that challenge and I for one would not bet against her doing some amazing things in her career, up to and including winning global medals. We shall see.
Valby and Cook are much more talented. Tuohy outworks them.
They're so obviously not, and it's really annoying that you think they are! Or just can't tell the difference!
Tuohy is absolutely ripped and is way stronger than either of them! She also has more competitive fire!
Tuohy will run 354 and 1430! She will win Olympic medals by developing a devastating kick!
Both those girls are adorable and are great athletes but tuohy could out bench them by 60 or 70 lb easily maybe more! And I know it's running but strength matters!
She's the top ranked 5K runner in the world for her age!

Yeah and tuohy is about to break 15! Also Africa is notorious for lying about ages because there's no clear birth records so any African age has to be taken with a grain of salt
Tuohy is the greatest non-African runner for her age! And she's about to run 1455 so in two weeks she will be the legitimate current world lead for her age
Katelyn Tuohy, a name that has become synonymous to winning, she has won national titles in middle school, high school and now in college. A phenomenal talent from the start with an efficient natural running form and a competitive drive unlike any other. With all respect to Tuohy, the greatest female non-African runner her age is Keely Hodgkinson (who is a few weeks older). In longer distances (3k - HM) and if 5 years older counts as "same generation", the best non-African is Klosterhalfen. The Americans to "beat" are Schweizer, Purrier, Cranny, Monson (ignoring a few a little behind or more on 800/1500).
I would not besurprised if she broke 15:00 indoors or next summer. To get close to those mentioned above, she should also get to ~4:02 1500m in the next two years. Tuohy might eventually run about as fast as those above (around/sub 4, around/sub14:30, but we don't know. She could also plateau at 4:04 14:50 or so.
